Half a million displaced by floods in Brasil. Half. A. Million.

We're going to keep seeing these numbers and we're going to get numb to seeing them, and it'll be the new normal. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/persistent-brazil-floods-raise-specter-climate-migration-2024-05-13/?taid=6642658ec92493000158bfd7&utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

@Loukas

The fossil fuel industry went on a mergers & acquisitions blitz on the insurance industry.

The insurance industry is anticipating 1.2 billion climate refugees, 1 billion famine deaths, and billions in property damage. All costs to be dumped onto the taxpayers, not the fossil fuel industry

They plan on dumping fossil fuel cleanups on the taxpayers as coastal infrastructure is inundated as sea levels rise. Coal ports. Refineries. Pipelines. Crude oil terminals.

@Npars01 when the carbon bubble bursts those stranded assets will get their own bail-out.

@Loukas feels like this is a part of 😞 for anyone out there who hasn't read the book - read it - it's a taste of things to come but ultimately the solutions are there too
