@dave I think I'm still seeing being in "perpetual almost following mode" with PodcastIndex accounts I try to follow. Continually seem to be in the requested mode, but not following yet.
@tchambers I was able to follow from my test account, but when issuing the "latest" command to get the most recent episode I got a signing failure. Let me dig in tonight and see what's going on.
@tchambers@dave it's mastodon proprietary. So that's my theory on where the problem lies, unless Dave has thought about this and integrated that into his service.🤷♂️
To be more clear, I get tons of failed jobs a day with authorization errors, this has to be because of authorized fetch because it wasn't happening beforehand and I suspect something similar might be going on here.
@tchambers@BeAware Ok, so this looks like enabling that requires request signing for everything instead of just POST requests. That would be where the issue is since I think the bridge doesn't sign requests for things like Actor lookups. I'll start there.
