Hi, do you run a major American university? Are you also predisposed to calling militarized cops to beat kids protesting war because you consider blunt-force violence a good solution to complex problems? I'm no placement expert but I would suggest maybe you should consider a different line of work, one that, say, you might be qualified for.

I suppose the realpolitik flipside is all those whinging white bouzh shitheads who call the cops on Black people having barbecues and birdwatching in parks have some big potential career prospects in college administration.

I wonder if there is a correlation here. I wonder if there is somehow SOME kind of odd, perhaps even magical coincidence of recognizing the agency of stakeholders in your institution and thus talking to those stakeholders and NOT calling military-grade goons to beat the shit out of them and then effecting a peaceful and civil exchange where positive outcomes happen without unconscionable violence, and if there is maybe some causal connection between not recognizing the agency of stakeholders in your institution and, in fact, DENYING their role as stakeholders and calling in goons and then violence happening because you specifically called said goons to beat the shit out of people, which then stirs up even further acrimony and creating exponentially more allies for those beaten people, leaving the "problem" you attempted to solve completely unsolved and now worse?

It'd be pretty fucking weird and insane if we could make the whole cause-and-effect of that, right?
