“The #IRS contractor who pleaded guilty to leaking the federal tax records of #Trump & some of the nation's wealthiest individuals was sentenced Monday to 5 years in prison, 3 years supervised release & $5,000 fine. The sentence brings to an end to a criminal case that exposed the source of a number of high-profile tax information leaks in recent years. “
He got more time than insurrectionists and that Obama staffer who stalked and harassed a street vendor with racist bile. This 'crime' has no victims, how is anyone hurt worth a five year imprisonment?
@GottaLaff Tax returns that Trump should have provided in the first place. Not to mention this guy get's five years for a leak and Trump stll goes unpunished for stealing and showing classified docs. Shows that the justice system is skewed to the rich.
@GottaLaff Wouldn't want my tax records published in NYT either, but it seems odd that this guy gets jail time and the paper gets subscribers and clicks.
@Herman@GottaLaff AFAIK that's a civil trial, not criminal, so no jail time. But he may be up for a couple of hundred million bucks in disgorgement. Which is almost as good.
Falling inflation? The prices I pay at the grocery store are still going up, as is my rent.
Rising growth? My income halved at the start of the pandemic, and that's where it still is, to this day. The rest of my family has similarly been struggling to make ends meet, with no end in sight.
