10th July: Went to see MaXXXine, found out I'd booked a ticket for a cinema 220 miles away and because the start times were different I couldn't nip into the one where I was and because it was late I was limited in what I could see, so dived into Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which was moderately entertaining if you could disengage your brain and weren't overly distracted by some of the camerawork but the melodramatic elements towards the end were really over-egged and badly-performed (although I am happy to concede that no actor could really convincingly pull off what the script was asking of them). In the end I didn't hate it but I doubt I will spare this another thought unless I get in another discussion about Will Smith's acting.

Lifecoach5000 ,

I finally watched In Bruges - which I’ve been meaning to see for years. Great flick and lived up to the hype!

I hate to admit it, but I’ve never seen American Psycho in it’s entirety, just scenes here and there. We put it on randomly last night and we enjoyed it a lot. The obvious morbid scenes aside, it’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen.

Today ,

I frequently accuse my husband of being Patrick Bateman because of his music comments.

Lol I have bare white walls with no decorations and listen to classic prog rock music, so those scenes were hilarious to me.

One of my favs. Christian Bale is outstanding as well as the rest of the cast. I really think they did pretty well adapting the novel

You ever get angry at yourself for being so utterly wrong about something? That was me after just watching Mad Max for the first time, having completely written it off my whole life. I had a misconception that the whole thing was about resource scarcity after the apocalypse, and I didn't think that sounded very interesting.

I watched all of the installments in the franchise. One of the most solid franchises I can think of. Even the low points (if I must call them that) are still very entertaining. The original 1979 film though is honestly one of the best movies I've ever seen. I wasn't expecting it, and I was blown away.

Always happy to find something new that shatters the jaded shell that's built up around me over the years. 10 out of 10.
