Chromium browsers are much worse in my experience. They don't even support extensions

ZWQbpkzl , in Why does not firefox care more about the android version?

Is "generally lacking in features" relative to desktop Firefox or other mobile browsers?

Also idk why you'd want Material UI. Not even chrome uses it AFAIK.

Mobile browsers.

Fake4000 , in Why does not firefox care more about the android version?

Firefox for Android might not be that great in terms of performance, but is a viable option out of the Chrome eco system. Firefox Sync works. The only thing its lacking at the moment is universal support for all existing Firefox plugins.

if performance isnt great, then there are 1000 settings to help you fix it.

The company said cutting off PWAs was part of an effort to comply with the Digital Markets Act, arguing browsers other than its own Safari software would expose users to security and privacy risks that were not permitted under the law.

They are so full of shit, it's unbelievable! Are they really claiming that their own browser is THE ONLY legal browser there is?!

not_amm , in Issues with Firefox Android

I agree with you in certain points, but there are others that are just wrong. Seem like you didn't even check what you wrote. Also, you compare it constantly with Chrome, but then in the comments you talk about other Chromium-based browsers that have even less market share, which is it?

I won't deny that you're right in some points, but please fact check what you just wrote before complaining.

That's like an opinion, man. Or 24.

As far as I know this should work: Cookie AutoDelete -> Settings -> List of Expressions -> Create Default Expressions Options -> _Default:WHITE -> Check Keep All Cookies.

and scale back investment in its Mozilla.social Mastodon instance.

Well shit, I guess I’m never getting off that waitlist. Of all the services being effected by this news the mastodon instance is a relatively minor loss but I was really hoping it’d work out and thrive in a similar manner to Vivaldi’s instance.

They are having the wrong direction since years. If anything, this is the same direction.

smotherlove , in The fact that firefox updates when I open it instead of when I close it. Has to be the most annoying feature ever.

I disagree. Software not terminating immediately is grounds for uninstallation. It should update silently while it runs.

This is what I hate on school computers, and it drives people away from Firefox.
You don't have admin privilege, you can't update, so don't even try.
I always disable auto-updates on those.

You guys close your browser? Weird

hi new CEO, any plans to update Thunderbird to look like it was made within the last decade?

ferralcat , in Mozilla names new CEO as it pivots to data privacy

Reading this new CEOs job history on linkedin is kinda infuriating. She goes from intern to head of consumer products at Skype in less than a year. Just... Frustrating to read that while I am and manage really good people who struggle for decades in the trenches to get even paltry job opportunities.

But she got her MBA from Stanford so nepotism ahoy I guess.

EnderMB ,

That...can't be accurate, surely? I've never known someone go from an internship to a senior IC role in less than a year, let alone leadership - unless the Skype head roles are glorified management roles?
