The universe crashed due to the Voyager probe causing excessive chunk generation. Buffer overflow.

(In the new patch chunks not occupied by objects capable of sending data to logged-in players will not be loaded. A 27 chunk cube around the probe will remain loaded as long as it is sending.)

Since there isn't much to render out there, this shouldn't cause any update errors. We were able to cover up the issue, ironically, by making the probe appear to crash.

I wonder why the scale of the universe can be so disturbing.

For me, the speed of light is more disturbing. It's so slow. 8 minutes from the Sun. The whole universe us like super thick treacle.

It's a wonder anything gets done.

New music for you all! Or, new music with which you can be bored for the few seconds it takes you to dismiss this post!

But but but please don't ignore because this is A LOT OF FUN. It's a Japanese electronic producer and an Indonesian experimental gamelan composer, making lots and lots of chaotic beats. It's absurd madness and I love it.

The topic is , where the intro is better than the song, but like Kitty I'm having trouble thinking of any examples - so I'll just go for a great intro to a great song.

And this - well, I've picked this for various hashtags, but it is such a great song, and the intro is absolutely thrilling.

If you ever wanted a song to grab you from the start, this is perfect.

It's an incredible song isn't it. Tune is proper heavyweight and the lyrics seem engaging and straightforward at first, when you think about them though, there's this almost metaphysical thing going on if that's the right word. Don't know how to describe it but it's really powerful.

I think a friend told me what it was about before I heard it the first time, but it took a few listens to get it.

I need to tell you about the eyes of army ants, and it's Alex Wild's fault. @alexwild He posted a gallery of army ants and I've been reading about their eyes all day.

Here's the deal, their ancestors lived underground. Like many subterranean insects the ommatidia in their compound eyes decreased in number until in some cases they had only one ommatidia left. This isn't an eye, more like a light sensor.

But then, they came back to the surface...

Idly wondering if they can share their visual information, like bees share information via movement / dance patterns
