Same sex marriage has been legal. What exactly has happened? Where are the horror stories of cats and dogs living together and mass hysteria?

As people try to undo this popular change ... where is the evidence of harm or tumult? They don't even attempt to make such a case because it's so futile.

That alone should end the misguided quest to tear families apart.

A man set himself on fire at the Israeli embassy in DC. Earlier reports did not include this:
“The individual, wearing fatigues, introduces himself as “an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force and I will no longer be complicit in genocide.””
And he continues yelling “Free Palestine.” @palestine

Melanie Zanona, Annie Grayer, and Haley Talbot report on the exodus of Republicans from the US House. 23 have announced they will not seek re-election or resigned, including five committee chairs.

They're fed up with the dysfunction in their party and with the way the hard-right wing now calls the shots, bullying everyone else. Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado says, “They’ve signed up to do serious things. And we’re not doing serious things.”

@wdlindsy the Republican party hasn't changed. This was always where it was headed. That some people who don't like trump refuse to see that is their personal fantasy and not anyone else's problem.

Life expectancy for African American men in the US is 62*.

For men in general? 73.

Enjoy your negative 8 and 3 years everyone.

*This is for black men born in 1960 ... the cohort who would be retiring soon if they weren't dropping like flies.

@futurebird Reagan raising the age from 65 to 67 in 1983 was a big loss. I'd support someone running on lowering the retirement age back 65 and paying for it by lifting the income cap.

You may disagree fervently with Pres. Biden's Israel policies, and that's fine. But if you come into my feed calling him "Genocide Joe" or any variation on that theme, you're blocked.

I've already had to block a few accounts for this.

Pres. Biden is not "for genocide." I will not argue with you on this topic, nor do I discuss the Israel/Hamas war here.

But I will not tolerate accusations of "genocide" by Pres. Biden. He's not "pro genocide."

If that's a prob, it's on you.

@GottaLaff Biden is complicit in genocide. I don't see how denying that helps anyone. That said, reducing a president to the most immoral of their foreign policy is a mistake that has been made before that can be learned from.

Will Saletan argues that the problem Nikki Haley faces is that the Republican Party (i.e., many Americans) has simply lost its mind:
