@ElleGray calling it a mediocrity machine is a fun way to dunk on tech bros, but it's really a lightning rod for accountability & is therefore scarier since human labor is gonna fill the gaps in performance.

I can see the problems with where we are:

Climate change and yet full speed into carbon world.

Poverty and oppression around the globe, yet we maintain the status quo and limit those who seek relief in the west.

Unending injustice towards marginalized people in western countries as well as in former colonies, many of whom are still being grossly exploited by the west.

Injustice towards women, girls, and queer folks.

Economic and social injustice throughout western societies.

@breadandcircuses @Mastopoet I think shit's too fucked for a general strike into negotiations to get us where we need. I think we need to flat-out map & create the structure that could grow & lead to a utopian society.

Capitalism is falling apart, but since it's built upon slavery, that's what'll catch those capitalism fails for. We need our own infra to catch people & to entice others to leave capitalism on their own.

The right wing (Trump, in this case) stakes out an extreme position on an issue. Then the left wing (or what used to be left, now more like center-right) counters that by moderating their previous position in an ill-advised attempt to court conservative voters.

@breadandcircuses I think we should do away with the myth that it's done to "court conservative voters" when conservative beliefs always benefit power. It's done to consolidate power, voters be damned.
