I wouldn't take this comment as anything but an anecdote. This is how some homeless people can be, so the take away is that the homelessness problem cannot be completely solved with housing. Some people are just cripplingly dysfunctional. They need more than housing, they need care takers. Just handing out keys to an apartment next to families to a dysfunctional drug addict who will smoke, vandalize and play loud music at night is not fair to the neighbors. These are normal middle-class people complaining, not some billionaire who can't stand the sight of a peasant lol.

The problem has been that many schools around the US have been running queer theory indoctrination programs in order to confuse children about their sex. Then they have "helped" a subset of said confused children access irreversible and unscientific gender affirming "care" such as hormone therapy without the parents' consent or knowledge.

It's really horrific how many lives these people are destroying, and they are getting away with it.

Edit: Downvotes are expected. But that should not be an issue because as we have learned from the history of Communist Russia or Nazi Germany, the most popular opinion is not always in line with justice and truth. Scientists from Europe are running huge studies and debunking claims by queer theorists that gender affirming care is necessary to prevent suicide. But that doesn't matter to many "comrades" that roam Lemmy. Some even hint at using very authoritarian measures such as violently kidnapping children from their parents who don't want their children falling victims to this. Just to show you that my comparison to historically authoritarian socialist regimes is justified.

China (or rather the CCP) is an adversarial and imperialistic state that seeks to gain influence over other nations through various means, including espionage and PSYOPs. I'm not saying other nations don't do that, but it is what it is.

It is in our best interest to mitigate the harm done by this adversary through any practical means. Of course this upsets the Chinese government, but that's expected, and may be a sign that we are on the right track.

You can use that rationale to justify any invasion against a weaker nation. All it takes is the lack of morality to justify horrific crimes. Your logic falls flat on its face in cases where force and coercion end up having the opposite effect than your stated goal. Countries in the Middle East are finding themselves more and more inclined to do business with China in times of increased threats and sanctions from the US. The "Great Satan" is hated by the population exactly because of the "diplomacy" that you advocate for. An increased resentment among the population influences politics, which drives these countries closer to enemies to the US.

It is more fulfilling and productive to direct one's sexual urges to a real person than a phantom. This keeps one's self more aligned with what's real and has good chances of establishing real and productive relationships between people. You cannot establish anything real with a phantom. You cannot have children with it, you cannot have sex with it, you cannot have mutual love with it.

Porn addiction is not real according to sexual scientists.

Only substance abuse and gambling addiction have made it into DSM. But it is still widely understood that porn addiction is very much real. This is not denied, and is being treated, which is not something you are in a position to call malpractice. It is only a matter of time before porn addiction ends up in DSM as well, because it is a real wide-spread type of addiction.

The problem is religion and fake morality creating conflicts in people’s minds because they don’t realize that masturbation is fine and healthy.

This is not the issue, many people who suffer from porn addiction aren't even religious. The problem is what I described in my earlier comment, which applies to addictions in general, not just porn addiction.
