Fighting bots is fighting humans.

One advantage to working on freely-licensed projects for over a decade is that I was forced to grapple with this decision far before mass scraping for AI training.

@molly0xfff I think we could make different funny and easy things to grant access to content, it does not need to be bulletprof, just so different from one another that it becomes a nightmare to code

I decided to find out if any progress had been made on the science behind why some ants are attracted to electrical fields. After filtering out exterminators (it's so demoralizing to search for information on creatures you love and find nothing but people who know nothing about them boasting about how they will kill them all) I found what looked like a blog. But, who the heck is "James Brown"? Never heard of the dude. Maybe he could be my new friend if he likes ants enough to blog about them!

Juries are superorganisms.

That is perhaps overstating it. They don't share food sources and housing, but what I'm getting at is that juries make decisions together, in an anarchist manner. It's one of the nicer features of the justice system.

There may be a person on the jury who thinks they will secretly try to throw the case one way or the other. But they must win over their peers or be singled out. And no one likes to be called biased or dishonest. "No I can be impartial, I will prove it"

/ The U.S. and Israel have a ‘major credibility problem’

[…] intolerable — it’s a blight on the consciousness of humanity. This kind of thing can’t happen in the modern day and age,” one White House adviser told my colleagues. “It’s the humanitarian situation that has tipped us over the line into open confrontation with the Israelis.”
