NEW: We spoke to official Kaspersky resellers in the U.S. about upcoming sales ban.

They are angry, confused, and worried that the ban will cost them time and money—and was just a political move.

One told us that it will take him 2 months to migrate all his customers to another antivirus, and he will have to pay for it since he doesn't feel like he can charge customers for the change. “It was my suggestion that they use Kaspersky and now Kaspersky is being banned by the United States government. What am I supposed to do?”

The ban and sanctions "are complete bullshit,” another said.

@bontchev

Kaspersky softwares cannot be trusted anymore, so it is logical to ban them. And not just in the USA: every country shall do the same.

Russian warships are heading to the Caribbean for exercises. And according to NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe General Christopher Cavoli, Russian submarine activity in the Atlantic are "at a higher level than we’ve seen in years.”

Why?

Because the U.S. and NATO keep escalating their involvement in the Ukrainian war, incl plans to station hundreds of thousands of troops, inclu US soldiers, along Russia’s entire western border, from Finland to the Balkans. Not surprisingly, Russia is treating this as an existential threat.

But a direct military confrontation between NATO & Russia dramatically increases the risk of accidental, or deliberate, use of nukes, which is an existential threat to the entire planet. And even without the firing of nukes, a ground war on this scale would lead to mass slaughter unseen since WWII.

What about Ukraine, you ask. Well, they've already lost >200,000 lives in this war, which they've been losing badly, hence the rationale for the increased NATO involvement. However, escalation of the conflict will only increase the pace, and the scale, of the slaughter of Ukrainians. And in a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia, Ukraine would likely be decimated. So, no, an increase in NATO involvement doesn't help save Ukrainian lives, and might not even lead to its independence.

A negotiated settlement is the only way out of this morass. Yet that isn't even on the table. And news coverage is so scant, and so biased, that most people don't even realize how serious the threat currently is. Even the peace movement is barely making a squeak.

@MikeDunnAuthor @aerofreak it is not true. The Budapest memorandum was a negociated agreement. Putin boke it in 2014.

There is also the UNSC resolution banning arms trade with North Korea. Russians broke it and used North Korean missiles to strike Kharkiv and

And many more signed treaties simple ignores.

You made a small mistake in your last paragraph. Here is the correct version :

In both cases, I believe this is achievable, but only if withdraws their troops from and is willing to support those agreements in good faith and without the ulterior motives of regional hegemony and exploitation of the region's resources and people, as is currently the case.

"It started with NATO's spread to virtually every inch of Russia's western borders"

In fact, 95% of western Russian borders were not reached by NATO. Well, not until joined NATO in 2022, but that's Putin's own fault.

Moreover, all those countries DEMANDED to join NATO. Don't they have the right to choose their military alliance as they like, even if it doesn't please ?

"It came immediately after Maidan,"

For once, you tell the truth. It came IMMEDIATLY after Maïdan: - Feb 22, 2014: Putin's pupet flees Ukraine

  • March 2, 2014: the Russian Army invades Crimea

I just have one question: how could the Russian army plan and perfectly execute such a complex military move in only 8 days ?

Could it be because they planned it months, if not years, BEFORE Maidan's revolution was successful ?

If you support , you should support this plan by Speaker Johnson to separate Israel and aid into separate bills -this means Democrats have no excuse to vote for funding. 🇵🇸
