client Gurk [1] compiles and seems to run fine on (I did not try to connect as I'm not a Signal user).

You can give it a try with:

Run ~/.cargo/bin/gurk

I did something to my OpenBSD system that feel very wrong. :flan_evil:

Did you ever get bored of ffs filesystem?

  • clean /home/
  • create a qcow2 disk in /home that take all its space
  • install alpine linux on that disk using btrfs
  • export a directory from alpine linux over NFS
  • mount your user home directory using NFS
  • enjoy frankenbtrfs on your OpenBSD :flan_thumbs:

(one can enable compression and deduplication on btrfs)

@OpenBSDAms hi, as the VMs are in Amsterdam, do you know what logging policy we should have as customers to be compliant with law? (retention, information etc..)

solene OP ,
@solene@bsd.network avatar

@h3artbl33d @OpenBSDAms so, if I only serve files over http, I could log nothing?

I'm proud and happy to announce the first release of my project openbsd-check-outdated

It is a shell script scanning your installed packages and check on repology if a newer version exists.

https://git.sr.ht/~solene/openbsd-check-outdated

You need a checkout of the ports tree, jq and curl to make it work.

I wrote it because I prefer to update packages I actually use than random packages I don't care about.

Any idea what this is? I found it in my cable drawer, I don't know what it is and which hardware came bundled with it :flan_eyes_narrowed:

I started linux with Slackware, with a feeling of hand crafted

Then I moved to Debian to have something popular and solid.

After that, I used OpenBSD to learn Unix basics.

Then, I found NixOS and it taught me about purity.

I'm currently having fun with Qubes OS, providing me meta.

There were many other distros and OS in between, but I used these the most and each of them allowed me to discover a new facet of computing science.
