Relatively simple actually, without copyright. Download Spotify, rename app to Spudify, re-upload to app store. Done, easy peasy. Hardest part about it would be decompiling the existing app, which is definitely possible and may not even be necessary.

The real truth is, however, that in this hypothetical world there would be no Spotify to copy and there would be much, much less music available to stream on Spudify.

Make them? Slap a $3.99 sticker on it and they'll line up around the block to purchase their little symbols.

Yes but if the representatives aren't representing their populace accurately, then what is a citizen to do? Vote, obviously, but in the meantime?

The unfortunate truth is that largely the state of New York may as well just be the province of New York City, plus a few additional hangers-on that don't really matter beyond a couple percentage points here or there. And those folks out hanging on, upstate, aren't feeling very represented. Because New York City is, essentially, all that matters in the state economically.

I don't know how to solve this in a way that makes sense. I believe that every person is entitled to representation that matches their needs. But when you have a single representative attempting (if they even do that) to represent both the big city and the rural interests at the same time, there are going to be some incompatible requests. And the city wins those, always, because it's the economic driver of the state.

I would argue that Texas has already done enough to be stripped of control permanently.

He's already well past what would be considered contempt of court for literally any other living human being. They're giving him as much rope as is possible for two reasons, one being so that absolutely no one can argue a mistrial, and the second being that he continues to attempt to hang himself with every length of rope let out to him. May as well let him continue.

Overdraft fees could drop to as low as $3 under new Biden proposal ( apnews.com )

The cost to overdraw a bank account could drop to as little as $3 under a proposal announced by the White House, the latest effort by the Biden administration to combat fees it says pose an unnecessary burden on American consumers, particularly those living paycheck to paycheck....

Yep. Around 2014 I was absolutely ruined by exactly this, and ended up having to drop out of college about it. Never did finish my degree. Over about half a year trying to get my finances back in order while being slammed with overdraft fee after overdraft fee after overdraft fee, I ended up """"owing"""" Suntrust Bank something to the tune of like $1200 that they pulled out of their asses by reordering items. Meanwhile I'm overdrafting my account by $8 to get some ramen packs that I could eat for the next 2 weeks, knowing damn well this $8 case of maruchan ramen is going to end up costing me $43 after the overdraft fee. Legitimately the closest I've ever been to just killing myself to escape the grind.

They're fucking lucky that all I did was settle up and close my account the following year, because they deserve arson, and I know some people that would have been more tempted to that than I was.

Yes but that low of a bar is what is required to be dangerous.

I don't think there's a mechanism in place for transfer of money to the government like that beyond, say, buying bonds or something, which the government is required to repay. They aren't really set up to take large donations of that nature, taxes are already intended to handle that. And an individual isn't going to be able to legally build a highway, or a school district of their own accord without governmental assistance.

And I think it's good that this is the case. It prevents America from devolving into a hundred nations led by individual warlords, we would very easily slip into something resembling Japan's Sengoku period.

I fail to see any problem with this.

Oh there was hard work involved. His daddy's emerald mine money worked very hard to get him where he is. And the slaves in those mines worked very hard to build daddy's money.

They are unfortunately NOT done strictly due to the sheer existence of the Republican party. The MAGA crowd was the greatest Gift Dems have received in decades.

The US officially supports One China, the US doesn't have an official statement on who we want to be in charge of that One China. The whole thing is a wink-and-nod sort of operation. Sure, we support the reintegration of Chinese culture and territory. Do we support that existing under Jinping? Ehhhhhhhh. America would be just as happy, or happier, were the Taiwanese government to gain control of greater China. But since we aren't trying to start a shooting war with greater China, we keep that part quiet.

The Chinese government knows damn well we don't like them much. We also know they don't like us much. But we're economically interdependent and neither of us wants to rattle sabers at the other until our hand is forced. That's why the situation is full of doublespeak and missing information. It's intentionally vague so that a non-inflammatory statement can be given without backing oneself into a corner.

Marijuana meets criteria for reclassification as lower-risk drug, FDA scientific review finds ( www.cnn.com )

Marijuana has a lower potential for abuse than other drugs that are subjected to the same restrictions, with scientific support for its use as a medical treatment, researchers from the US Food and Drug Administration say in documents supporting its reclassification as a Schedule III substance....

Though the drug itself has been around for hundreds of years

Longer than that. There is credible evidence that humans have been using cannabis for at least about as long as we've been brewing alcohol. Ancient religious relics recovered from archeological digs have been tested and shown cannabis residue.

"Tradition" is by definition the opposite of "progress"

"Dubya" is one syllable, maybe two depending on your particular accent

Edit: Unfortunately I was extremely stoned at the time of this message and that should have been "[...] two syllables, maybe one depending [...]" but I'm leaving it up as evidence of my dumbshittery since it spawned discussion. Don't do drugs kids

I've heard some folks where it comes out more akin to "dubby"
