Just your friendly, neighbourhood bearded troll. Toils in the software mines for kroner. Plays games. Reads the odd book. Knits. Reminiscences about the good old days when computers were eight bit, men were real men, women were real women and small, furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small, furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.

You too can buy a Tesla, and support the main share holder Elon Musk, who abuses his social media platform to convince his 185 million followers, that the US justice system is corrupt, because his favorite criminal is brought to justice.

Or you could buy from a different car brand.

I'm not sure that, if I were in Elon's position, I'd admit on the record and in public that I consider falsifying business records a trivial matter.

That's the kind of statement that can come back to bite one.

Not enough people realize that the "Turing Test" as originally presented was "can a gay English man in 1945 tell the difference between a chatbot and a femme-coded woman" over a teletype connection.

(Turing was very gay and had a sex-segregated education and then work life: he basically didn't know women and his alienation is palpable. But today's techbros don't have any such excuse, and the emphasis on femme-coded AI is ... telling.)

I don't have anything to add to the conversation, except to remind everyone of who the superior space show computer is:

And thank you for playing “Republicans Eating Their Own”

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.):

“She is a horrible leader,” Tillis said of Marj Q Greene. “She is dragging our brand down. She — not the Democrats — are the biggest risk to us getting back to a majority…is “uninformed” and “a total waste of time”

Is it the agressive bears and raccoons that's dragging the reputation of the park down, or is it the overflowing garbage bins that the park rangers have stopped emptying?

It's a mystery.

People trying to train AIs are now complaining that all of the AI data on the internet are making it hard for them to get quality training sets of natural language and images.

bitter snickering

"So now both humans AND AIs are using "Before 2022" in their searches to get better results. "

Oh, like how Radio Carbon dating dates everything to "years before 1950" because nuclear weapons testing messed up all the isotope ratios?

Elon Musk never wanted to build the low-cost car, according to Walter Isaacson. He wanted the design team to focus on the robotaxi, but they eventually convinced him to do both. Now he’s overruled them again.

If the board really cares about Tesla, they’d use this to oust Musk.

Even if Tesla could make them (they can't), robot taxis as a replacement for private care ownership is a pipedream if you don't first do something with the transportation patterns.

As long as the main driver for private transportation by car is commuting to work, a taxi fleet is going to need about the same number of cars as we've do today with private ownership.

It wold just add traffic: a robot taxi can't just wait in your driveway till the next day.
