Last day of my break from work, I contemplate the dirt on my kitchen floor. The baskets of laundry. The pile of mail on the table. Plans incomplete, hours evaporated. I see all the failures and only glimpse the good moments. Was I swallowed by futility? Perhaps I should tell this to my therapist.

@DrFerrous I guess we tend to measure ourselves by what we accomplish and we spent so much time accomplishing at work that when we don't finish what we think needs doing at home we beat ourselves up about it. And spiraling, we want to be superhuman and think we don't deserve to rest.

    @dillyd Is that a wild rose vine that has taken over their tree? We see wild pink ones and white ones taking over the roadside and trees where I live. Mean thorns!

    I do love a nice book ribbon in my books. That's why I usually buy hardcovers, in hopes that they will have a ribbon. Often they do, but not often enough.

    I can't believe UFO became an outdated term replaced by UAP during my lifetime. Why does the Pentagon get to decide what we call things? I'm sticking with UFO. And Pluto is still a planet (albeit a dwarf planet). And I hear leeches are still used in medicine. 😚
