yeah moss is great but how about a vascular plant that has basically ... gone back to the way of the moss...

Azorella compacta

It's... it's a carrot that has given up on having leaves...

Imagine a hostile planet with plants like this... could you tell that they once grew in less cold and arid climates? What if flora of the twilight days of a planet look like the earliest life... but when you look closer there are abilities, and structures that tell their history....

It looks exactly like a tuft of green moss.

12 May 1944 | A group of 39 Roma and Sinti children (20 boys and 19 girls) deported from the St. Josefspflege orphanage in Mulfingen, near Stuttgart were registered at Birkenau. Dr. Robert Ritter and Eva Justin of the Institute for the Study of Racial Hygiene carried out various tests on them before deportation.

The main purpose of this research was to confirm that the supposed "Gypsy" traits were inborn. When the children became useless, they could be deported.

@auschwitzmuseum Can you ease up on the 'G' slur please? I think we already know what the nazis called Sinti and Roma people by now.

the anti-fluoride people are back... I mean, if you like anti-vax stuff why not? It's the same swindle.

"precious bodily fluids" and all that.

I hate the taste of mint so I'm always looking for toothpaste that tastes better... I was horrified to discover that if you go of the beaten path with toothpaste there are 100s of brands with "no fluoride" which only a tiny number of people really need... Be careful if you use a "crunchy" brand ... fluoride is amazing.

@futurebird Oo I'd love a lemony one. I guess the acids would make it complicated.

I noticed this plant in our garden. I thought it was a weed but I’m starting to think Pica may be either taking or dealing DRUGS. Some of the younger cats like to use this leaf as a decoration. I’m not too out of it to notice what she’s up to!

Pica mouth open high as a kite on nip

"This species is renowned for its large size... up to 15 millimeters in length."

Lies. These ants are known as "mini rubies" because they are small for carpenter ants.

"striking coloration, with a combination of black and metallic blue or green hues,"

WTF utter nonsense!

"prefer nesting in..rainforests and mangroves"

NO.

I just encountered a "species description"and I think it's AI generated. I think they did this so they'd have one for every species.

I'm so LIVID. This is GARBAGE.

@futurebird Oo yeah. The AI mushroom thing made me go "O nonono..."

Like I only know fungi species in some regions, but even the regions I know pretty well, I'd still err on the side of absolute caution.

Like you said: that's serious danger some people will be put in.

I don't have the spoons to make long posts no more, but uhhh, fuck the police, fuck empires, fuck colonialism.

And listen to funk. It's good for you.
