What kind of developers are that who develop software which selects people to be killed? Can you imagine working in such a team? Are they working with user stories on Kanban boards?

It’s horrifying that we have gotten so close to that seemingly far away future where AI kills actual humans.

@robert Years ago , I did some work for a company that found a web developer was using one of their machines to work for another client. I heard a lawyer get this contractor on the phone, and to start the conversation, he asked, "Does your profession have any ethics standards?"

I didn't hear the rest of the conversation, but at the time the answer was no. w3c has since published some, but it looks like it's still considered a Draft note.

Nothing inaccurate there. Ground access is absolutely the best way to get hundreds of aid trucks in per day. The whole air drops and pier things were a PR stunt. Chef Andres and his team do great work, but as they said, with UNRWA blocked out, WCK is just a drop in the bucket.

@claralistensprechen3rd @Miro_Collas @palestine I think Chef Andres views changed after that tweet they quoted on 10/16. I saw somewhere WCK complained about theire office being bombed about a week before the attack. But who knows what led to bombing the convoy.

@timnitGebru @willoremus I've found telegram channels to be helpful when delving into some conflicts, paired with Mastodon. Not that it replicates X, there's still something to be said for taking the pulse over there on reactions to certain events, and certainly some people I miss.

As someone who once trusted Biden its genuinely baffling. There seems to be a political calculation that thinks abandoning AIPAC money will lose more votes than he's losing by supporting the genocide. But just going to that calculation shows a complete absence of any moral compass. Which we we're told was the difference between Biden and TFG. That calculation also doesn't consider: With moral clarity comes leadership. When you know somethings right, you can decide based on that. And when you"re right, others will learn from you, and you'll have their support after all. And that support will be stronger than the kind based on fear and cunning. Biden could have been that kind of leader.
