Are there therapists who specialize in helping children who are stressed out giving tech support to their parents?

My mom is a mathematician. She can program w/ punch cards. But, she & Dad just don't keep up with tech anymore. Drives me nuts.

Gave my dad an iPhone for Christmas. They HATE it. Probably would hate any phone. Now they say it's recording their conversations.🙄

Dad holds down the buttons on the side when he picks it up. Activates the voice assistant... they think it's a hacker.

Condemnation of Hamas from the left it cheap when not paired with the historical context of that's all they left Palestinians with after a campaign to liberalize the PLO was waged & won.

It's like being mad at blacc people because so many of us are christians

A colonized person who is an organized, active, socialist/communist mobilizing the masses of their people to liberation through anticolonial socialist democracy scares the shit out of the Western Imperialist powers.

@NoFlexZone @palestine The masses of Palestinians never supported Hamas until now after the killings of thousands. In the only democratic elections Hamas ever allowed they got less than half the vote, then permitted no more. It demonstrates how outrageously unjust the collective punishment is.

@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@NoFlexZone @palestine Just look at the results of the only elections ever held in Gaza. Less than a majority supported Hamas, but they were able to form a government (as less than a majority supported Netanyahu in the most recent Israeli elections but he was able to form a government when the Left couldn’t unite). Since then Hamas hasn’t allowed elections, which tells you about their support prior to the Israeli invasion.

@NoFlexZone @palestine You seem to be starting at the premise that Hamas and the surrounding Muslim nations are pro-Palestinian, which is ahistorical. King of Jordan was assassinated by Palestinians. Arab nations refused to allow Palestinians to establish a state for 20 years after it was authorized by UN. Hamas has been taking money from Iran and Netanyahu and was losing Palestinian support before the invasion.

@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@argumento @NoFlexZone @palestine They were losing popularity because they were becoming corrupt. The Palestinians have been f**ked by Israel and the West, by their Arab neighbors, and by Hamas. PLO/Fatah though even more corrupt at least has the advantage of being of the people, while Hamas originated in Egypt.

@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@palestine @argumento @NoFlexZone I’m probably a fair bit older than you, and missed that about Arafat. It’s quite true about Hamas though. Now think about whether October 7th was to help Palestinians in any conceivable way, or was rather to serve Iran by stopping Saudi Arabia’s imminent recognition of Israel (Saudis being Iran’s major Muslim rival). So Hamas f**ked the Palestinians in service of their Iranian masters.

jud ,
@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@NoFlexZone @palestine @argumento Hey, just as soon as you come up with a great explanation for how October 7th was designed to help Palestinians rather than Iran, which supplies the major portion of Hamas’ weaponry and is well known to use Hamas as a proxy, I’ll be happy to listen.

@argumento @NoFlexZone @palestine And why didn’t they deliver? Because they were happy to comply with Netanyahu’s wish to play them off against Fatah and deprive Palestinians of a state. For 17 years. Until Iran needed them to stop the Saudis and Israel from getting too close. What suddenly changed after 17 years to cause an attack on Israel that had no chance of success and was certain to hurt the Palestinians in Gaza terribly? Wake up.

jud ,
@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@NoFlexZone @argumento @palestine The Iranian claim is that they supplied weapons in the early days, but Hamas has now reached a point of self-sufficiency. But self-sufficiency does not mean Hamas has sophisticated modern rocket manufacturing facilities. It means they have enough money to buy them. Where does the money come from? Oh, from those who “give money and political support.”

jud ,
@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@NoFlexZone @argumento @palestine It is far from racist to understand the relationship between Iran and Hamas in the same way the Palestinians have - which is, as you finally admitted, the reason they were losing popularity. They were content to go along with the odious Netanyahu for 17 years. The people in Gaza knew what that meant.

jud ,
@jud@mstdn.science avatar

@heretical_i @NoFlexZone @argumento @palestine Well, I figured whatever source I presented would be suspect. 🙂 You are of course free to find your own. At this point it hardly matters, since the Israeli horror has accomplished what Hamas could not: The polling I saw as of a month ago shows 70+% support for Hamas, which means as far as I’m concerned they are the rightful representatives of the Palestinians going forward.

@NoFlexZone @argumento @heretical_i @palestine The Palestinians in Gaza, at any rate.

This isn't a parody of Fox. It's just what it's like now. They have an 'FBI guy' on using words like "covert" ... and he implies some kind of sinister team has "turned" Taylor Swift making her... uh... (checking my notes) um... suggest that people vote? Diabolical!

(Can she sue them for defamation over this? They imply she can't think for herself and that she's tricking her fans.)

@futurebird Let's put out a rumor she's considering lending Trump money, and all this junk will go away.
