I though the only distinction was for medical vehicles and military vehicles. There is a whole class of vehicles called Technical which is pretty much a pickup with a heavy machine gun mounted to it.

Mexican Agriculture Minister Victor Villalobos also participated in the meeting. He suggested that in future Mexican inspectors could take the place of the U.S. personnel who currently handle the checks.

I wonder how much of a kickback Victor gets for looking the other way.

jimbolauski ,

Attract more skilled workers by making the conditions worse. This has to make the top 10 worse economic government decisions list.

jimbolauski ,

The flip side of that coin is if there are not enough opportunities for the current population adding more people is not a good idea.

jimbolauski ,

It usually happens the other way in large companies. They take away access first thing in the morning then they send the Bobs in later to inform them that their services are no longer needed.

jimbolauski ,

It'd be even worse to maintain, having to strip and recoat every time the hydrolics leaked

jimbolauski ,

I'm sure you've made the same comment about mass shooting stories, stories about evil white supremacists painting swastikas, white supremacists shooting minorities...

jimbolauski ,

At least you're honest about your bad faith comment.

jimbolauski ,

The point which you've missed in spectacular fashion is that the threat of Muslims attacking people in the US is minimal just like the threat of white supremacists attacking people. Both are used to reinforce the us against the bad guys mentality, to bad you're not perceptive enough to see it on both sides.

jimbolauski ,

I pray they never take pictures of the extinguisher bottles. The horrible things written on them is going to get a lot of Airman weekend duties.

jimbolauski ,

Your source says 40% would struggle which is a higher threshold than couldn't but that means 60% would not struggle to pay.

jimbolauski ,

So your source was wrong on all fronts

jimbolauski ,

I have a 6 shot latte that I sip throughout the morning.

jimbolauski ,

4 shots is 28g, you're all ready there and didn't know it.

jimbolauski ,

As awful as state controlled media is I look forward to reading the absurdities. The absolute distain communists have for jeans is absolutely hilarious, durable clothing made for sailors and miners is a sign of western opulence.

jimbolauski ,

In case anyone was wondering Maryland and California are the two states that hate freedom and regulate flame throwers.

jimbolauski ,

Does an ac-130 count as an aircraft or rapidly deployable artillery?

jimbolauski ,

Jordan did the right thing, they defended their airspace, they stopped missiles from flying over their cities. Who is shooting them and where they are going is immaterial.

jimbolauski ,

Pee hole is vented backwards

jimbolauski ,

I imagine anyone that wants an armored dick can't feel anything all ready.

jimbolauski ,

Stealth tank skin requires full stripping and recoating after anything hits it to remain stealthy.

jimbolauski ,

Why do you need optics, you should be shooting from the hip.

jimbolauski ,

Radiolocation can be passive radar can not. Radar requires one or more transmitters and one or more receivers.

jimbolauski ,

Just because they dumbed down what a radiolocation sensor is and called it passive radar doesn't make it a radar. RADAR was an acronym radio detection and ranging. Passive systems triangulate that is different than ranging. For ranging to work you need the transmitter and receiver to cooperate.

Atmospheric attenuation of light is a real thing and the intensity of solar radiation is less on the surface.

The best part of the Gitlab UI is when it gets upgraded and you have to relearn how to find everything.

Get rid of an income tax and move to a federal sales tax on everything. Provide cost of living stipends for everyone. It could provide a safety net and stop tax avoidance schemes.

jimbolauski ,

You don't need to tax wealth. Amased wealth will be taxed when the wealth is spent.

jimbolauski ,

The thing a consumption tax fixes is eliminating all the tax avoidance schemes. People living off their wealth don't pay high taxes, they take out loans against their wealth and pay the loan back at 5% instead of the 20% capital gains tax. Carl Icahn, an investor was able to pay no income tax using this scheme. He had an adjusted gross income of $544 million but deducted it all from paying his 1.2 billion dollar loan.

jimbolauski ,

Income inequality hasn't been solved by progressive income tax, it's not a magical sacred cow. It's always been flawed.

jimbolauski ,

It agitates me to no end why every bread product is loaded with sugar. I can tell immediately when someone uses pillsbury rolls, biscuts, crescent rolls. Even worse Hawaiian rolls which should have a little sweetness are stuffed with sugar to be sweater than everything else it's just about pastry levels of sugar.

jimbolauski ,

Entry level means something different for every field. An entry level cook and an entry level engineer have two different sets of expectations for the employee.

jimbolauski ,

Difficulty has nothing to do do with skilled or unskilled labor. Skilled labor is labor that requires formal training and/or significant experience, unskilled labor usually entails on the job training that lasts less than a week.

What are the high skilled jobs that are labeled unskilled labor?

jimbolauski ,

Farmworkers, custodians, construction workers, and similar manual labor are labelled as “unskilled labor” yet they generay require a lot of training to do correctly.

Farm workers it depends on the job, running & maintaining machinery yes, picking vegetables no. Same with construction, their are unskilled jobs and trade jobs (skilled), plumber, electrician, carpenter, mason.

Also in fast food training generally lasts more than a week. Idk where you got the “lasting one week” figure. And similarly, a significant portion of “skilled labor” jobs have no training at all (as I said, office jobs often don’t have any training whatsoever even for entry-level positions).

Fast food workers are not training for a whole week, they're shown a task and do it. The training is only 20 or 30 minutes. You are correct skilled labor positions don't have on the job training the expectation is that they all ready posses the skills.

Different job positions of the same type or in the same field, believe it or not, require different amounts of training, expertise, etc., and trying to generalize them into categories based on what one feels is right is pretty much just a method to demean/stigmatize certain types of labor.

Strange that you're making that argument while generalizing farmers, construction workers and similar manual labor.

Skilled labor is just labor where the person is expected to have formal training, unskilled is where there is not an expectation. I'm sorry that you look down on unskilled labor and consider it derogatory.

jimbolauski ,

There’s nothing that makes being a plumber or electrician inherently more skilled than being a fast food worker.

That might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Let's take a plumber they need to be proficient in welding, soldering, pipe fitting, building codes, ... It more than just how to use a plunger.

What are fast food workers training on for 40 hours? What skill do fast food workers starting out posses that's equivalent to welding a high pressure pipe that will pass x-ray inspection.

There's no reason to be defensive about unskilled labor, it's not claiming they are mindless idiots, just that they didn't receive formal training to do their job.

jimbolauski ,

You are confusing chefs with cooks. Line cooks are hired with no experience or training, the same cannot be said for chefs.

jimbolauski ,

No experience necessary for line cooks.

https://www.indeed.com/q-no-experience-cooking-jobs.html

jimbolauski ,

You may not hire line cooks without experience at your restaurant but there are a whole bunch of resturants that do. Places like Applebees don't require experience or formal training.

jimbolauski ,

The closest the US will get to fighting China is a Taiwan proxy war. We'll still get to see how well their stealth aircraft work, probably not that well considering they just figured out how to bury the exhaust nozzle inside the airframe. We'll get to see how well their missiles work, an area they are closer to the US, as long as they don't use water as fuel. We'll get to see how well their ships anti missile/drone tech is really only the US and Israel have had to defend against those kinds of attacks.

jimbolauski ,

He was convicted of Federal drug charges in the 90s so this was not his first drug charge. 40 years still seems excessive but the claim he was just growing weed is disingenuous.

jimbolauski ,

Hotchkiss has a drug history and stated that he had been to federal prison on a drug conspiracy charge. He stated that the conspiracy case was about 20 years ago when he lived in Orange Beach, officials said.

jimbolauski ,

You forgot the part where CBP doesn't do their job and instead invites people in creating a situation where people risk downing.

jimbolauski ,

China is still pretty far behind on all sorts of tech.

Stealth: China just figured out how to hide the exhaust inside the airframe, the US was doing that in the 70s. They don't have stealth missles the US has thousands.

Missles: China has missles fueled with water, liquid fuel are less stealthy than solid. China is much closer here than most areas.

Logistics: US cargo planes can cary more farther. Russia has shown what bag logistics can do.

Boats: while China has more boats they are less capable. China has two aircraft carriers with one on the way US has 11 with 5 on the way.

Asymmetric warfare: US has demonstrated capability to handle drones and cruze missiles in a real world scenario, no one else has.

jimbolauski ,

How would you determine when people are allowed to drink, own a firearms, sign contracts, drive...?

jimbolauski ,

Can you point to the quote where he "bragged about being able to because of his position of power."

I agree forcing someone to do something does not mean they let them do it. Nobody says the cashier let the thief rob the store. Even when the cashiers are told do comply with the robber.

All we have is what Trump said and you can't dismiss part of what he said because it doesn't fit your narrative.

jimbolauski ,

Moving the goal posts again. He said they let him do it because he is a star not because he was powerful. On top of that you didn't even include his whole quote.

Contrary to what you've been told implied consent is a sufficient defense for sexual assult. Letting someone do something is implied consent.

The reason that these semantics are important is if he was in a position of power, implied consent may not be sufficient.
