@parismarx Yeah, when I was reading that review of the Beijing auto show I was astounded by how good the production cars looked compared to the concept/pre-release cars US automakers were putting out there. It reminds me very much of how complacency in the US auto industry in the 1970s led to the Japanese cars becoming preferred options. I imagine we did protectionist stuff like this too.

Just read @pluralistic's latest and now I'm angry all over again about how I can no longer call myself a Realist or a Rationalist because assholes have appropriated those terms to justify their bigotry and greed.

FWIW? A true Realist believes in full equality and rights for all without favor – because, realistically, any alternative system might get applied to YOU. It's irrational to think you are special.

@JenLucPiquant @carpetbomberz I get tense with any launch, especially a crewed launch, and most definitely one built by Boeing at this point.
