I'm experimenting with new profile layouts in the new Pixelfed app.

Which one do you prefer?

(current, alt 1, alt 2)

Alt 1 design
Alt 2 design

@dansup I find alt 2 or current really nice

Edit: Unbordered won! https://mastodon.social/@dansup/112437818096142087 (I liked bordered more, but the people spoke and I listen)

I need your opinion, I can't decide between bordered or unbordered sections, which do you prefer?

Bordered vs Unbordered

@dansup unbordered

I could deal with, but didn't agree with, the idea that a president can't be hauled into court during his term, ok, ok I can see the potential for abuse there.

But, no man is president for life, so that protection will expire and the force of the law still exists. (and the burden of proof)

I simply don't get immunity beyond that. I don't get it at all.

@futurebird my understanding of immunity for politicians is that it is a temporary hurdle to fend off juridical ddos attacks and enable politicians to work guided by their conscience. It is explicitly not there to prevent punishments and can be revoked at any time given a good reason. But maybe that's just me 🙇

:: There is nothing uncanny or mysterious about time travel. Time travel is trivial. The passing of time is relentless banal even. My contemporaries would do better to ask how one could stop time traveling rather than searching for ways to start. And even travel into the past is an easy thing-- that surprises you I see!

You have traveled into the past many times, as have I. Time travel is easy. The actual issue is realizing that one has been transported.

According to a new survey by Yale, a majority of people in 17 US states don't believe there's scientific consensus that climate change is happening.

I'm looking for recommendations for books set in the tech industry. I'm interested in any genre (except, like, kids books, but why would you have middle grade fiction or a picture book set in the tech industry) and am open to wide definitions of tech. Like, a book about an uber driver counts, a book about a Silicon Valley venture capitalist counts, a book about a programmer at a mid-sized firm in Ohio counts.

Thank you in advance!

@shauna @bookstodon "The Phoenix Project" is a novel to teach about dysfunction in teams. Not really tech specific, but well applicable.
