State judge upholds most fines against group seeking repeal of Alaska ranked choice voting - Chilkat Valley News ( www.chilkatvalleynews.com )

An Anchorage Superior Court judge has ruled that opponents of Alaska’s ranked choice election system violated state campaign finance laws in their effort to gather signatures for a repeal ballot measure....

I'm not sure it would survive a repeal measure vote, any conservative support it seemed to have has eroded because it hasn't worked in their favor and their team keeps losing. I've even heard it blamed for elections that weren't ranked choice like the Anchorage mayoral election. We'll see how long it lasts but I'm not hopeful

Exactly my experience as well, I work in a very conservative industry and everyone who mentions rank choice voting blames the R losses on it. The first vote with it, it was clear that they had their head in the sand about how it worked because they thought it would fail, then came the "Rank the red" which didn't work. It's very surprising to them when people don't vote the way they think they should. Their whole attitude is very childish and tribal.

Also it's cool to see another Alaskan on here.

It is in half the world, but Israel is in the northern hemisphere so the wrong half for that line of thinking

I went to an airshow a few years ago and the F22 raptor demo team was doing their show, which was amazing and the recruiter was working his pitch into the show the whole time. Between the talking points they would play music and the one that stood out the most was BYOB by System of a Down, which is a complete and total 180 to what they were pitching. It was incredible the cognitive disconnect.

What is a good multirole server setup for a racked server?

I recently purchased a Dell PowerEdge R730 at a killer price, and intend it to be the cornerstone of my home lab. I plan to use it as both a NAS and a container server so I can set up whatever I want with it. I'm a bit unsure of what a good setup here looks like, so I'm hoping for a bit of guidance....

Either trueNAS or unraid work as a vm in Proxmox, but there's some caveats. You have to pass the whole hba/lsi pcie device to the vm so you can't split the backplane of the server.

The spec still uses letters, WiFi 7 is 802.11BE under the old common name convention this gen would be WiFi BE which is a bit confusing. As of WiFi AX(6) they switched to numbers for the common name.
As for who it's good for, it's great for everyone, not just gamers. The spec has a lot of major improvements in bandwidth, collision avoidance and transmission density. All of which makes it better to move lots of data to multiple clients at the same time. Meaning if you wanted to stream Netflix to 3-4 devices in 4k the limiting factor is not the WiFi anymore, it's the internet connection and the client hardware. If you work from home and have to video call in, but others in your house want to stream high bandwidth content, no problem.
