Yet another #recall

#Tesla is recalling its futuristic new Cybertruck pickup for the fourth time in the U.S. to fix problems with trim pieces that can come loose and front windshield wipers that can fail.

The new recalls, announced in documents posted Tuesday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, each affect more than 11,000 trucks.”

There is a lot of negativity about Therapsids. Lots of people (mostly me) calling them "ugly" and "too small heads" and "make up your mind about being a mammal or not" but I'm turning over a new leaf!

Dicynodont?
Why not dicynodo!

@futurebird The one that are soooo close to being mammaliaforms (but rather far from being mammals), such as Kayentatherium (restoration here by H. Kyoht Luterman) are wonderfully weird and interesting...

'A step back in time': America's Catholic Church sees immense shift twd the old ways

“Generations of Catholics who embraced modernizing tide sparked in 1960s by Vatican II are increasingly giving way to religious conservatives who believe church has been twisted by change…

..molded by plummeting church attendance…reshaped parishes across the country, leaving them at odds w Pope Francis and much of the Catholic world.”

@GottaLaff I am surprised that American Catholics haven't yet broken off and formed their own church with an Ameripope and denounced the rest of the Catholic Church for being "too liberal."

@lowqualityfacts I can't believe this. Garlic, I could believe—virtually EVERYTHING could be improved with more garlic.

Can some real biology people weigh in on how you feel about calling a stem group, now extinct "evolutionary dead ends" or "dead branches on the tree of life" etc?

To me it's clear and evocative, but it also feels like the kind of glib phrase that is perpetuating some misconception about how evolution works.

@futurebird "Descendant-free taxa." Makes 'em sound happy-go-lucky (e.g., "carefree").

Seems like the Turner statement was designed to induce panic.

Mychael Schnell:

Intel ranking member JIM HIMES just told me “people should not panic, that is unequivocal” after this statement from Intel Chair Turner.

“It’s something that the Congress and the administration does need to address in the medium to long run.”
