If you see a new youTube channel with a plain sounding name like "NatureView" or "BrightScience" etc. and there is what looks like a tempting video on a specific education topic "Most Active Volcanoes" or "Incredible Carnivorous Plants"

There is a 50/50 chance it will be a generated voice with stock footage and a script written by GPT.

I am now avoiding videos if I don't recognize the creator, or don't see signs it was made by a person.

So much spam!

Since he does fun, yet accurate, SCIENCE!-related videos to teach people about SCIENCE!, he has a personal interest, not only because this AI slop competes with him, but because they steal his content to make it!

He mentions he has a hobby of reporting every one he can find, and what does YouTube do about it? Meh... It's content!

    @alice I'm partial to my Glorious "Model D" wireless mouse. They make wired and wireless versions of the "Model O Minus" which is a smaller form factor. I'm not sure exactly how "ergonomic" it is, but it's ridiculously light and easy to move around. (And I wouldn't call it "cute" either, although I like the RGB effects.)

    If you go with a wireless model, they need recharging every few days, that's the major downside for wireless freedom.

    @alice Beautiful flowers! Did you know that Foxglove's genus "Digitalis" is because the roots contain high quantities of the drug "digitalis" - a heart stimulant with therapeutic uses, but that can cause apparent heart attacks in people who consume too much? Here in Florida we had a "Black Widow" who went through several husbands before becoming suspicious and having autopsies done on her ex-beaus, only to find out they had died of digitalis poisoning. (I like the purple flowers.)

    @alice I mean, it's not like you'd find much left over once the gators got to them. Theoretically. Hypothetically. Which never happened...

    Apologies if I mansplained. Am amateur botanist/herbalist/green-thumb and get carried away sometimes, especially with the weirder stuff. You have gorgeous flowers and I'm very jealous of your garden and please post more photos!

    @alice I don't really know what's going on, but this is a "cute" thing - from a while ago admittedly. Poor kid in the costume really wanted to lean away as far as possible. I don't think I smelled bad, just a weird old guy who loves Hello Kitty...
