@loren Loren, I love birds so much! They are all great!

I watched some kind of flycatchers hunting over the river today, and it was a lot of fun. There were also some lazy cormorants hanging out on rocks, just being the role models we all need in these trying times.

And I have chimney swifts, like, in my very own chimney.

@loren yep! the up side is clear, but the down side is that we (obviously!) cannot cap the chimney until they are finished nesting for the season, which means water getting into several wrong places in our house for a bit longer

we’re going to build them a fake chimney over the winter so that they aren’t sad next spring

I have received numerous requests for more Fishy pictures, so here's one from today. Please feel free to comment your favorite thing about Fishy and I will read it to him. He may not be fluent in English, but I believe he has a basic understanding of the language. He just chooses to ignore words such as "don't eat that", "get off the counter", and "please stop biting me".
