@Nonilex While I'm happy Assange will be free (not considering, for the moment, points of criticism against him), I'm worried this act may set a precedent for prosecution of journalists.

“Possessing or accessing” material related to the “national defense” is something that mainstream journalists do on a daily basis. 😞

    Did you know that Mastodon apps can work with non-Mastodon accounts too?

    Mastodon is one type of server on the Fediverse, but there are also lots of non-Mastodon Fediverse servers compatible with Mastodon apps through the "Mastodon API". This compatibility allows even new types of server with tiny userbases to have apps, although it can restrict the range of features the app offers.

    There is more info about this topic and lots of questions answered at:

    @FediTips An example: I use @MonaApp, which is a Mastodon client, to post pictures to my Pixelfed account. It works almost seamlessly as a Pixelfed client too.

    @futurebird @privateger I can vouch for these techniques. 🫡

    Although, I think my favorite way to finish a project is to lose my task list and forget there was a project, then be reminded of it several weeks later when the client writes to say the project is cancelled and no longer needed. I’ve been trying to use this method more, recently, but it doesn’t always work.

    Anti-“woke” dad accused teachers of “grooming” kids. He got hit with a $20 million lawsuit.
    He complained about everything from artwork with rainbows in it to "LGBTQ lanyards."

    So now SpaceX, with no working spacesuit, and years behind on it's multi-billion dollar moon lander, is lobbying NASA to go to the Hubble Space Telescope.

    "A successful private mission could improve Hubble's ability to point at celestial objects and, by boosting its orbit, extend its life by years... however, an accident could leave the multibillion-dollar telescope broken — or, even more tragically, tethered to the dead bodies of the astronauts sent to repair it."

    @mastodonmigration @glynmoody Wow, I didn’t realize Starlink satellites orbit at twice the elevation of Hubble.

    @mastodonmigration @glynmoody True, true. I misread the wikipedia article.

    Most spiders couldn't hurt you at all, like not even give you a little itchy welt if they tried their very best, if they could overcome their very realistic fear of your massive size and exoskeleton crushing feet.

    That there are a few who get one over on us is the great exception. We are a terror to these little creatures.
