EVs won't save the planet. Ultimately, the material bill for billions of individual vehicles and the unavoidable geometry of more cars-more traffic-more roads-greater distances-more cars dictate that the future of our cities and planet requires public transit - lots of it.

The US needs much more investment in rail before we can stop using cars, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, where train service is perfunctory at best. I really hoped this would be a major benefit of Biden in the White House.

Congratulations Arizona! You’ve discovered the power of prayer!

Because of this along with a 160 year old law Arizona has outlawed abortion—stripping women of their bodily autonomy and putting lives at risk

Let me be clear

If you abstain from voting or vote 3rd party: you are directly attacking me and all women

Vote.

Take back the house. Enshrine Reproductive Rights.

I wish there was a way to reach the "I won't vote for genocide" kids that don't seem to understand how FPTP works, and often lack the humility to have a civil discussion about it.

“Independent contractors” have been used as a dodge for some employers for decades. It’s uncertain hours, no health insurance, no benefits, and the off chance they will be terminated for a little or no reason.

If you think society can be cohesive on gig working then you're living in the wrong century, as well as the wrong millennium.

Good step from the Biden administration.

Sarcasm isn't a terribly effective tool for persuasive writing. It also got 2020 completely wrong.

Do you imagine this article has convinced anyone that needed it, or is it just preaching to the converted?

Let's not exaggerate the impact.

Sure, my points may have been nitpicky, but minimizing people's serious concerns about the right as that article dismissively does is just another divisive purity test that accomplishes nothing.

If the point is to make a third party candidate viable, I haven't seen anything in the last 50 years that'll do it.

"Show her face"? Can we be serious? She was there to disrupt it and protest. It was an overreaction, agreed.

Anyone that thinks that she could have won without some serious changes to our voting system first isn't being realistic.

Yes, Dems have a stronger establishment, but that's how Trump co-opted the weaker party.

To get actual choice, it'll require tearing down FPTP first, and maybe even setting up a parliamentary system, starting with a lot of local races, which the right has been doing. But once there is choice, it'll require uniting the famously divided left, AND the people rolling coal with big American flags on the back of their trucks that still frequently drive by my house. You can't just skip to a third-party president.
