Today started with an early call that my dad had been taken to hospital. 2hr drive north to be with him, my mum and sister.

He passed at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Not the father's day I was expecting, and I'm not home to greet my son when he comes back from his cadet weekend.
I really want to give him a hug tonight.

Thanks. He'd been unwell for a while, but even still this was unexpected.
It was quick and quiet and we were all holding him as he went.
