Silly that the page doesn't actually say what it does or link to overseer. https://overseerr.dev/

Should I avoid or engage in current news right now?

During the last 'election summer' things went haywire but ultimately nothing meaningful really happened, and not a whole lot really changed as a result of that unrest. This time things are going haywire again, and it seems like something big will happen but people thought that the last time... Would it just be better to ignore...

Consider that what we read online as news is becoming close to 50% generated or created by bots. Dipping in now and then, but mostly avoiding doesn't seem an unreasonable approach, and breaks the dopamine machine.

Meanwhile, US ground beef would cost something like $30 a pound if the subsidies were removed.

I'm waiting for the fireworks when the tools start correlating user names to RW identities...

Click bait, designed to rage engage, don't fall for it

Not only are they stupidly repetitive, they are loud. They do make me look for other stations. I've found I can mess with them sometimes using the home button, it can pause the marketing BS for a good minute.

I never felt there was a good reason for this app, they sell stuff online, and that works just fine in a browser without an app spying on my every move.

just imagine the "stigma" if the transcripts get published,...or fed into other LLMs

I tried, I really did

I've been an IT professional for 20 years now, but I've mainly dealt with Windows. I've worked with Linux servers through out the years, but never had Linux as a daily driver. And I decided it was time to change. I only had 2 requirements. One, I need to be able to use my Nvidia 3080 ti for local LLM and I need to be able to RDP...

Same as you, in IT forever, ...I switched, and I'm never going back. It's fast, and it's brought the joy back for me. Nvidia needs to do better, but that was the only difficulty I had.

It's a crappy situation with Nvidia, even outside of this. A while ago, my ubuntu system informed me of updates, and it happily installed the 6.5 kernel. Turns out, nvidia drivers don't work with this kernel..... Apparently this sort of thing happens all the time, which would seem easily avoidable.

I've been a customer for decades, including large format, and my newish HP is waiting to be recycled. It's print quality wasn't great, and the HP ink I bought that worked well for months stopped working due to what must be a chip error. Who has time for that nonsense? I won't even sell it, I don't want to push the misery on someone else.
