McDonald’s Gives Up On ‘AI’ After Comedy Of Errors, Including Putting Bacon On Ice Cream ( www.techdirt.com )

LLMs certainly hold potential, but as we’ve seen time and time again in tech over the last fifteen years, the hype and greed of unethical pitchmen has gotten way out ahead of the actual locomotive. A lot of people in “tech” are interested in money, not tech. And they’re increasingly making decisions based on how to drum...

Same for the big metal tea dispensers. I had some very nasty looking stuff come out of one of those while filling up a cup one time and it made me never trust fast food drinks again.

I used to not think it was much of a problem, because the people running the restaurant I worked at in highschool and college put such a strong emphasis on keeping everything clean so it never even croased crossed my mind that things could be that bad.

Regarding sleep quality, why did humans evolve to require full darkness?

I know evolution is governed by chance and it is random but does it make sense to "ruin" sleep if there's light? I mean normally, outside, you never have pure darkness, there are the moon and stars even at night. In certain zones of the Earth we also have long periods of no sunshine and long periods of only sunshine....

As a fellow night owl that gets pretty deep into the late night, I've had the idea that it is actually good to have a small percentage of the population awake while most of the others sleep to help keep watch. I don't have any way to prove this, but it's something that I feel makes sense.

So is peoyte, mdma, and psilocybin. Personally, I think only heroin and methaqualone really deserve to be Schedule I drugs. Heck mdma is scheduled higher than actual meth!

Sometimes views on things change and maybe some picture or other content you posted now makes you a target in some way that it didn't before. You don't always know how things will change in the future and adding such a highly expected piece of functionality like deleting something you uploaded should probably be more highly prioritized.

Yep, I've had two die on me, both within a year of purchase, for no real reason whatsoever. I'm never buying that brand again.

Tennessee Republican files 'abortion trafficking' bill for pregnant minors ( www.tennessean.com )

A Tennessee Republican hopes to establish an "abortion trafficking" felony for adults who help pregnant minors get an out-of-state abortion without parental permission, an effort reproductive health advocates argue will run afoul of constitutional rights such as interstate travel....

SynonymousStoat ,

This only seems to specify, "...with the intent that the minor engage in prostitution or any criminal sexual activity." So I would be lead to believe this law only covers "prostitution or any criminal sexual activity". I don't believe one could expand this law to cover any activity that is illegal under the original state's laws as your original comment stated.
