Biden has always had some degree of stutter. Trump used to speak very smoothly. The trajectory matters here and Donald's points down a lot harder

I observe sometimes that enforcement officers can't help but demonstrate the behavior they want to eliminate in their attempts to eliminate the behavior, which usually causes people to emulate said behavior

I believe Biden's response in Gaza has been terrible at best, but i also know that if Trump wins the genocide will get much worse. We may already be in a new world war and i don't want Trump driving in that scene. And all of this says nothing about human rights at home.

If you can't vote in good conscience then don't. Just try to understand the likely consequences first.

even if you "support israel" (i do not), seems kinda bonkers to be like, "well, israel really needs these constant shipments of thousands and thousands of american weapons"

their military is rampaging all over gaza, in the rare-ish instances they get clowned on it's tactics and not materiel that are making the difference, maybe if they didn't have a limitless supply of 2000-lb bombs they'd actually think twice before wasting them all on apartment blocks and hospitals and universities

Is there a version of kayfabe that works in reverse to make it look like you align with someone when you actually don't?

Biden has been gaslighting and appeasing the edges without acknowledging the full depth of the genocide. He's sanctioned low level individuals, not government officials that craft policy, and he criticizes specific military campaigns but not the genocidal directive they operate under. He drops food to sink in the sea that isn't even intended for refugee consumption when we could send actual rations that float and disperse in the air so people won't get shot trying to reach a pallet.
Everything he does feels like it's carefully created to indicate to humane people that he cares -- without actually effecting any difference in the genocide.

In the last couple days we have seen two excellent examples of the use of semantics to obscure meaning and generate deniability.

The "bloodbath" comments were not taken "out of context", and the generally accepted definition of rape certainly includes forcing his fingers inside a woman, aka digital penetration. When media repeats these misleading claims without clearly debunking them as false distinctions, and does not call him out for his deceptions, they assist his disinformation tactics.

You all understand that the US and EU talking about travel bans for “extremist” Israeli settlers is the OPPOSITE of holding Israel to account, right?

Whereas Palestinians are assigned collective guilt for the actions of individuals, these visa bans are an attempt at individualising blame for Israeli state crimes.

That's why Western leaders have no problem with them and there is absolutely no "tough love" here, but collusion with the Israeli propaganda narrative. These measures actually allow them to DEFLECT criticism of Israel: nothing wrong with the polity or its policies, if there is anything to criticise let's put all the blame on a handful of "bad apple" extremist settlers and ignore how, far from representing an aberration, their actions are systematically condoned, endorsed, aided and abetted by Israeli politicians, the judiciary, and the army.
