I tried using DDG for about 3 months, until I had to ditch it. I want to use it, but its results are even worse than Googles.

While on Google I might have to scroll past the ads, sponsored links and obvious AI blog results, the first page will usually at least contain a relevant result somewhere, whereas DDG simply doesn't bother to show any relevant results at all. Even on it's first page, it will stray far from the actual search term.

sounds like an idea for a "what if" scenario. I know just the author to pitch this to...

You are going to be trapped in a room for 12 hours with a mid 2000s office desktop with no internet connection and an external hard drive; what are you putting on the hard drive?

I've got some DOOM WADs I have been meaning to play so I would probably grab Trench Foot, Total Chaos, and the sequel to Ashes 2063, Ashes: Afterglow with a portable install of GZDoom to play them....

I wonder at what point newsweek became this trash. I do remember about 20 years ago, we used printed Newsweek magazines in our english curiculum in school as a tool to learn a foreign language, but at no point were it's articles anywhere near as bad is they are on their website.

Marjorie Taylor Greene claims ‘bullshit’ as expert says Covid vaccine saved 14m lives ( www.theguardian.com )

Responding to an expert’s statement that “about 3.2 million” American lives have been saved by vaccines against Covid, with “over 14 million lives” saved globally, the far-right Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene said: “I’m not a doctor, but I have a PhD in recognising bullshit when I hear it.”...

They might be cool enough to sustain life, but are they cool enough to wear camouflage cargo pants and wrap-around oakly sunglasses?

Boomers won’t part with their homes, and that’s a problem for young families ( www.cnn.com )

Buying a family-sized home with three or more bedrooms used to be manageable for young people with children. But with home prices climbing faster than wages, mortgage rates still close to 23-year highs and a shortage of homes nationwide, many Millennials with kids can’t afford it. And Gen Z adults with kids? Even harder....

Localhorst86 ,

Boomers shouldn't have to part with their homes. They, too, need a place to live.

The issue is not Boomers owning the house they live in and refusing to leave it (even if it might be larger than they require)
The issue is in particularly large corporations owning thousands of properties and taking them away from the housing market.
