Looking into how to make a (ordinary playing cards) card-based resolution system for fiction-first , inspired by @timgray101 ‘s Loom system, which is a kind of opposition-based trick-taking system where you draw a number of cards based upon how many relevant traits your PC has related to the task.

Have you tried a playing-card-based ?

I think card-based methaphors would be fun to explore in a game: «Having a good hand», «Playing my cards right», «Use the hand you’re dealt», etc.

@SJohnRoss Sure, using the cards in play would have to be part of some kind of meaningful experience, I’m seeing how it can become «meta» and unwieldy, fast.
What’s FFE in this context?

Okay, I've tried 18 solo journaling "RPGs." I liked 5.

I don't recall the title of one; I played online and can't find it in my browser history. 😥

Three I like: 32 Percent, House Spirit, and Urban Legend Club.

One I like with qualifiers: Wandering Library. I think it needs a little something to give it a sense of structure and potential closure, but I respect it, and in particular respect how it respects the player.

The 13 I dislike didn't kill me or anything. 🤷

@SJohnRoss Have you looked at Wraithound? Haven’t played it, but looks good.
