Since the show has now (obliquely) referenced Vern's hyperspace visions, and since Qimir has that curvy scar ...

What if Vern, some years back, had a vision that put her in the classic pulpy "kill baby Hitler" dilemma re Qimir, then leading to a bootstrappy foreknowledge-causes-dilemma situation?

I don't know if I feel strongly enough to call it a pet theory, just a thought drifting through the haze while doing a font commission. 🤔

@SJohnRoss I'm not familiar with Vernestra from the books, so I don't know how her visions in hyperspace work. But, that would give a kernel of truth to all this "discarded" talk that happened while on an island that looks like it's out of The Last Jedi.

@SJohnRoss I was guessing they might have been introducing it to set up a vision by Vernestra as the framing for a flashback in the next episode. Whether to reveal The Stranger's past or what happened on Brendok.

@SJohnRoss @mcv I don't think it's the same island either, but what if The Stranger set a bunch of skura loose inside his ship like porgs in the Millennium Falcon just in case Osha had tried to swim out to steal it?

    I'm going to miss Dafne Keen as Jecki, but her death fit what I think is one of the show's themes so well. The Stranger uses guilt for her death to goad Sol, but first implied that she was just a weapon. This show seems to have a bit to say about children.

    @SJohnRoss Digressing to The Clone Wars series, there are some moments where Shaak Ti is trying to do "the right thing" but in order to do so she has to exercise the Republic's ownership of the clones. The Sith plan made the Jedi slave owners. The series doesn't use the word slavery with the clones, but there were three other episodes explicitly about slavery.

    @NaClKnight Best to go to the source. The FTC has an explainer. There's one tricky bit in the PDF about franchises; if a wrestler were considered a franchisee they'd still be subject to new non-compete clauses. I don't think that's how wrestling promotions are run, but IANAW.

    @chris @mrpablington SNES graphics were pre-rendered so the stages couldn't rotate, zoom out, or reflect. Character sprites were snapshots of how the models moved. Fight intros and victory screens weren't animated. Saberwulf's stage misses the bats and chandeliers in the foreground and Saberwulf's mouth doesn't drip with the opponents blood. Cinder's shadow doesn't disappear during invisibility, his flame effects are gone. Spinal's stage doesn't have lightning.

    OK fans. Which do I start with out of VI or VII? Both are loaded up on my MiSTer ready to go, but I don't know which one I should tackle first. Fairly new to JRPGs, and the only FF game I played was X.

    @chris @hellerphant If you're interested in the Pixel Remasters, AustinSV also did a follow-up video on updates to them, with a section at the end just on the console version specific changes this past October. There are some spoilers in that video, though, such as naming final bosses and showing locations or mechanics which appear later in the games.
