@mattmcirvin @futurebird To make things really fun, the rocks are measured with different ounces to everything else. Rock ounces are bigger than normal ounces, but there are fewer of them in a rock pound, which means that rock pounds are smaller than normal pounds.

My friend's local burger joint scribbles things on their take-out bags.

Which is cute, but with tonight I am a bit unsure as to whether it was wise to eat our checks notes... "bumgers”.

@vampiress Looks OK to me. Burgers are usually made of the parts of the cow that aren't so tasty on their own, because those do tend to work better when ground up and mixed with binders and seasoning. The bum of the cow is ideal for that:

Politicians and political commentators whine about young people not buying homes and starting families (not getting married) and then do NOTHING to help the young people (who do exist) who would love to do one or more of these things but can't because it's too damn expensive.

Build housing and coops where young people want to live. Protect their jobs with unions. Make health care not an issue.

Do not make some marriages impossible because you don't like the genders.

Not rocket science.

And while they're at it, they should make it illegal for anyone to buy a house if that person already owns a house which is unoccupied for over half the year.

And maybe any house that is unoccupied for more than, say, five years should be seized, refurbished if necessary, and either sold at auction (with no reserve price) or given to a homeless person.

Spring officially started in China four days ago, and XīnNián usually begins on the day of the first new moon after the start of spring (but not always; 1980 AD was an esception, because the actual rule is determined by the last new moon before the southern solstice).

I just went and made a batch of mince pies with cocoa powder in the pastry. The flavour works but might be a tad excessive.
