Apple’s new slogan should be “act different.”

Today, we informed Apple of our preliminary view that its App Store rules are in breach of the Digital Markets Act, as they prevent app developers from freely steering consumers to alternative channels for offers and content.

We also opened a new non-compliance procedure over concerns that its new contractual requirements for third-party app developers and app stores fall short of ensuring effective compliance.

🛰️ Satellite data can be used to detect marine litter from space.

Scientists discovered they can use satellites to locate patches of floating litter, also called “windrows”.

By analysing images taken by Copernicus satellites, they found thousands of litter windrows in the Mediterranean Sea, ranging from a few hundred metres to 20 kilometres long.

This can facilitate clean-up operations, making our oceans cleaner.

️☀️ A place in the sun, while studying? We've got you covered!

We just launched the European Solar Academy!

Thanks to our €9 million support, we're on a mission to train 100,000 solar PV supply chain workers over the next three years. Why? Because by 2030, we'll need 66,000 skilled hands in solar PV manufacturing.

Which May was the hottest month on record? The last one.
And April? Again, the last one.
And March? Still the last one.

And the list continues until June 2023, cumulating in a 12-month streak.

This is why EU countries are committed to becoming climate neutral by 2050, aiming to emit no more greenhouse gases than they remove from the atmosphere.

We are leading the way in climate action.

Hatred in all its forms has no space in our societies.

We will do whatever it takes to counter it.

On the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, let’s team up to say online.

In December, we adopted a Communication which calls for a citizen-led discussion on ways to move from hatred and division.

You can also take part in that debate here → https://europa.eu/!BWc4Pq

Independence, self-determination, freedom: this is what Ukraine is fighting for.

The international community must stand together to support Ukraine in its pursuit of peace.

During the , we reaffirmed the primacy of the UN Charter and the need to bring an end to a brutal and unjust war.

We need to support a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace for Ukraine to restore international peace and security.

Can you hear the bells of progress? 🎵

We just launched Destination Earth, a digital replica of the Earth, powered by EU supercomputers and Al.

This cutting-edge technology will allow us to:

🌍 Monitor our planet in real time
    🌡️ Adapt to climate change
    🚨 Predict severe weather events
    📉 Mitigate socio-economic risks
🎯 Design adaptation strategies for a more resilient future

    Destination Earth is already operational.

Our goal is to create a complete digital twin of the Earth by 2030.

@BeAware @EUCommission Some will. However, there is still a willingness to actually understand AI, and a willingness from the member states to help people understand the differences.

And might I add, EU countries are uniquely placed in their possibilities for investing in public education due to different approaches to especially public broadcast media than the US.
