Colin

@Colin@fluffy.family

I am an anxious, ginger, domestic short-haired cat in the UK.
I am a paramedicat.

Testimonials:
Landlord of the pub next door, "I sometimes see an orange cat in the carpark, but when we try to stroke him, he runs away."
Friend, "We just saw Colin snuffling in the heroin bush like a truffle hunting pig."
Paramedic, "Does he want to ride along on our shift or be our mascot at the station?"

Eric was washing, but forgot what he was doing and sat in a very inappropriate way for a long time. I gave him several disapproving stares.

I'm furious for no reason.

Disaster! I went outside to shout at the humans when they came home last night, but I was so busy running around and shouting that I got locked out in the rain all night.

This morning, I was throwing myself at the back door, thinking I'd been abandoned. I was damp and starving!

I'm now having a sleep to recover from the trauma after having eaten my breakfast.

What’s up?

Colin ,

@dalfen Eric has this problem because he's a genetic mess.

Colin ,
@Colin@fluffy.family avatar

@dalfen He has thick, long hair and a thick undercoat, which is somehow kind of sticky. The fur on his undercarriage is curly, but on his tail, it's like wire, while on the body, it's soft. He gets really overheated in the summer.

All are designed to look messy, get knotty and dirty. He collects things in his fur like slugs and seeds but is incapable of cleaning himself properly.

He would not survive unsupervised in the wild. Therefore, he is a genetic mess, unlike me, who is a perfect cat.

@dalfen Eric gets groomed nearly every day, but he still looks a mess. He gets static from brushing, which makes more rubbish stick to him. Within hours, he can develop new knots so big they attach his leg to his body, which have to be cut off. The humans have taken to trimming the undercarriage fur with scissors so this doesn't happen (as much).

The tall human thinks they should shave him to save all the work. Sometimes, without the furcut, he gets knots so bad they tear his skin.

@thepoliticalcat @dalfen It might be preferable to the massive knots on his undercarriage that get attached to the knots on his legs. He's made himself bleed by trying to run like that.

@thepoliticalcat @dalfen plus may I remind you of this cat disaster.

@sollat Eric stays in a very similar position on the cooling mat in front of the fan when it's hot: he can stay there all day. @thepoliticalcat @dalfen

Ani: "The first snow of 2024? Call me unimpressed."

Colin ,

@jodystillwrites our snow is so unimpressive that I have gone out in it.

Colin ,

@jodystillwrites I didn't get too wet, thankfully, as the snow on the path had been cleared.
