Do you clean the opening on your glass bottles?

Spouse and I have a discussion on what to do after you pour a sauce out of a glass bottle. I do nothing but my wife takes her finger and wipes the excess from the bottle before she puts the lid back on. I think touching the food is disgusting and she thinks leaving it there to gum up the lid is disgusting. What do people do?

Blueberrydreamer ,

If there's a decent dribble there I'll grab a paper towel or napkin and clean it off first, but I usually don't worry about it. Wiping it off with a finger is disgusting though IMO. Her finger has about a thousand times more nasty stuff than anything in the sauce bottle, that's a great way to contaminate an entire container.

Blueberrydreamer ,

It's not an offense, it's a word for children. Which makes it a very poor choice when searching for explicit content unless you're looking for CSM.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Ironically calling a group of geriatrics 'girls' doesn't change the meaning. It's a joke that apparently went over your head.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Obviously it's often used colloquially for women. That doesn't change what it literally means. What I'm trying to point out here is that if you're looking for porn, don't call women 'girls', because it sounds like you're looking for children. It's pretty fucking simple.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Nothing mistaken, I just don't give a rats ass. Using a 20 year old, wildly exploitative porn franchise that went bankrupt after its founder was accused of creating child porn is not exactly a convincing argument that 'girls' is a useful term to find porn of adult women.

Blueberrydreamer ,

That's nice. Also completely pointless since you can't seem to grasp a simple concept.

I don't fucking care.

If you don't want to be confused for a pedo, stop calling women 'girls' when searching for porn. It's not the 90s anymore. This is only going to be more common as the fight against AI CSM escalates.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Feel free to take your own advice.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Now you're getting it! 👍

Blueberrydreamer ,

I guess if you want to be arrested.

Look, I'm not advocating for anything here, I'm not suggesting anyone who's ever said 'girl' should be thrown in prison.

I just pointed out that it's a specific term used to refer to female children, thus it makes sense that search engines are using it to weed out unwanted searches for child porn. It's a reasonable step to take on their part, and absolutely doesn't affect anyone that isn't looking for CSM. Just use any other word for women. Hell, there are plenty of other derogatory words for women you can use that will still get you tons of results just in case denigrating women is an important part of your searching process.

How do you have so much time to spend on this website trying to convince people not to vote? How does someone so passionately stand for absolutely nothing? I've seen these same posts from you over and over and over again, yet you never actually have anything to say besides 'both sides bad, don't vote.'

If you have a better option, I'd love to hear it. But if not, maybe shut the fuck up and quit turfing for Trump.

Blueberrydreamer ,

'Not supporting a genocide' is not a candidate running for election.

Nobody here wants to support genocide. It's not brave statement, it's fucking common sense. But the options are 'a guy who's weakly attempting to deescalate things' and 'hurry up and finish your genocide already'. If you truly don't want to support genocide, there's a clear pick.

Blueberrydreamer ,

So who are you voting for then? You continue to avoid the real question.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Except you're both fundamentally wrong about how data center cooling works. It's not closed loop water cooling, they use evaporative cooling by misting the cooling air. There's no 'great distraction' here, just some attention to one of very many problems with how we run large data centers.

Blueberrydreamer ,

I get 'useful' stuff from AI all the time. Nothing major, but little timesavers, unique character art for a DnD game, language and grammar suggestions when I'm writing short stories with my wife. That kinda thing.

Crypto offers me nothing. I have absolutely no use case for an average person's life. I'm sure there are businesses that can utilize crypto to some benefit, but frankly I couldn't care less about their ability to hide money and evade taxes.

This is 360 for a 3700 piece set, under the .10 per piece rule of thumb that Lego has loosely hovered around since the 90s. It's pricey cause it's huge.

Blueberrydreamer ,

It's 3700 pieces. Frankly considering the license I was expecting it to be much worse.

Blueberrydreamer ,

I fully don't get why people are reacting so much to this. Why the fuck shouldn't I vote against Biden in the primary? He's going to be the nominee regardless, this is exactly the time for Democrats to get out those protest votes.

"Bugs" is a generic term for everything from insects to arachnids and other things like Pillbugs - a crustacean and close relative of shrimp. Aquatic crustaceans may not typically be included, but the point is the distinction is arbitrary.

Blueberrydreamer ,

150 years ago Lobster was considered disgusting trash food only eaten by the poorest Americans. This isn't about taste, it's about perception and the availability of meat. The main difference between a Pillbug and a shrimp (in terms of edibility) is the size. Most small bugs don't have enough meat to be worth preparing in a way where it's not obvious you're eating a bug. It's pretty much just aquatic arthropods that can escape the limitations of air breathing to get large enough to be a more appetizing food source.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Is there any argument to be made that edible crustaceans aren't bugs that doesn't boil down to 'ew gross'? I simply don't see how this is a stretch in any way.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Crustaceans are as closely related to insects as spiders and centipedes are. You're splitting antennae here.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Attempting to interact with the shark vs. simply being in the water. The article mentions people trying to touch or feed sharks, free them from fishing nets, etc.

Blueberrydreamer ,

That is absolutely antithetical to the scientific process. Nothing is considered 'fact' until rigorously proven. This is interesting evidence that absolutely warrants criticism.

Blueberrydreamer ,

One published paper is never sufficient to claim anything as fact. To suggest otherwise is purely ignorance.

Blueberrydreamer ,

Holy fuck what a stupid response.

Here's some recommended reading, hope it helps: https://kids.kiddle.co/Hypothesis

Blueberrydreamer ,

No is arguing otherwise.

One paper does not make a "fact". Years of established research and widespread consensus barely justifies labeling a subject as a "fact".

Have you already forgotten the room temperature superconductor claims from last year?

Let me be absolutely clear. I am in no way trying to discredit this paper. I see no reason to question their findings, it's good science and absolutely should be followed up on. However, I take strong exception to people jumping on any half decent study and treating it as gospel.

My understanding is that the monitor's job is to report information to the judge, not make decisions for them. Offering up her own accusations of fraud could easily be overstepping her position.
