Saying her fair election was “rigged” is the exact populist anti-democratic way Trump and his ilk want to toss democracy to the side. She lost. Does money play a part in elections? No doubt. We have a privately financed election system. But it doesn’t mean the election was illegitimate or “rigged.”

When you’re the good guys, you need to do better.

Mark your calendars: Oral argument on ’s presidential immunity appeal is set for Thursday, April 25 at the United States Supreme Court.

Bam ,

@GottaLaff @Danetteb

Seeing people saying that they’re taking their sweet time with that schedule. The order was that it would be scheduled that week. The Court does not generally hold OA on Thursdays. Usually Monday through Wednesday, so Thursday is out of the ordinary.

Yes, the Court has moved some cases faster, like the lightening speed Pentagon Papers case. But this is pretty quick for a case that doesn’t have a built in decisional deadline.

I’m of the opinion that they should have denied cert, so 🤷‍♂️. I’m just saying that it’s not like they’re holding it over for next term either.

I promised to write something up on legal pundits and how to listen to them.

This is a preliminary draft of my answer.

Monday, when the Supreme Court decision came down, I said this:

If you are upset or angry about the Supreme Court decision in the 14th Amendment ballot case, you are the victim of rage merchants.

I also promised to explain. Here is my explanation.

This is not a crowd pleaser. Sorry.

@Teri_Kanefield

What if I fully expected the result for practical and policy reasons, but think the reasoning is still atrocious, undercuts the originalist principles that the majority of Court purports to decide on, further upends the federal power/federalism balance (based on a seed Justice Story planted wrongly ages ago), and extends its holding far beyond what needed to be addressed with minimal justification, particularly when there’s a much more intellectually honest method to get the Court where it obviously wanted to go?

🤔

(I know you addressed that. I’m just being sassy 😉)

Wow. A lifelong Republican voter in Oklahoma just published an op-ed, saying how he “voted for Trump – twice” but that after reading “Liz Cheney's book & the DOJ Jan. 6 indictment,” he totally changed his mind & now will not support Trump this election. This is good.

I’m telling you, I know it’s 600 pages, but that J6 report is a must read. It is compellingly written and, even after watching the hearings, still shocking. I know it’s a big ask, but people need to read it.

Here we go again: Someone replies “we DESERVE” who we get in elections… Me: No, we didn’t DESERVE Trump. (There were dirty tricks, election interference, 7 million more for Hillary). He then felt he had to explain we don’t use pop vote in elections. No kidding. I asked that he “please don’t twist my words, my issue was “DESERVE”. His reply? “I’ll make a conscious effort to passively consume your content without further engagement moving fwd.”

I never sugg he shouldn’t opine. Debating here is 🤪

I think she means a basis to appeal. I don’t know more specifically though.
