OK... now it's a race!

  • We've got the first data suggesting a next generation Covid vaccine could outperform the Pfizer vax – it's authorized in one country & manufacture is ramping up.

  • The number of nextgen vaxes reaching mid-stage trials (phase 2) is now in double digits.

  • We've been hearing results of 2 clinical trials a month for the last 6 months.

Lots of news this month....1/2

The UK government is planning to scrap millions of unused SARS-CoV-2 vaccine doses, which could have been used to vaccinate previously ineligible groups for free, after they closed the autumn booster campaign.

Meanwhile, pharmacies have just been authorised to offer Covid vaccines at a massive £45 a pop, thus excluding the poorest sections of the population.

And the new scheme starts on...yes you've guessed..April 1st.

Book recommendation:
"A Shot to Save the World".

It's a very in depth narrative history of the brilliant men and women who dedicated literal decades of their lives to making incremental scientific advancements that culminated in the creation of the various Covid19 vaccines. The story will probably make you really hacked off at all the people sharing that screenshot of the tweet of the jerk claiming that the Covid19 mRNA vaccine technology isn't worth a BigMac.

"Measles was officially declared eradicated in the U.S. more than 20 years ago, but new outbreaks of the disease are popping up — and experts say declining vaccination rates are jeopardizing herd immunity and increasing the risk...Measles is a highly contagious and potentially deadly virus that causes a tell-tale rash."

"To ignore Kennedy, or his supporters, on the grounds of their holding such easily falsifiable beliefs seems extremely shortsighted. A lot of Americans believe things that aren’t true—which, given the (literally) whitewashed version of history most of us get taught, shouldn’t be surprising."
