THE problem.

Via Emptywheel:

Criminal protection racket.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Just to sum up. You support for pres even if he's convicted in classified docs case. You support him for pres even though you believe he contributed to an insurrection. You support him for pres even though you believe he's lying about the last election. You support him for pres even if he's convicted in Manhattan case. I just want to say, the answer to that is yes, correct?

SUNUNU: Yeah. Me and 51% of America.

A pack horse librarian delivering books in rural Kentucky in 1938. During the Great Depression, the Pack Horse Library Project was a Works Progress Administration (WPA) program in which the librarians, who were often called "book women" or "book ladies," delivered books to remote parts of Appalachia.

"The media keeps trying to 'understand' Trump voters because they don't want to accept the truth about them. … Over the weekend New York Times ran Part in its continuing attempt to understand Trump voters. …

I am sorry, but some Trump voters are not merely misunderstanding 'the economy,' or imagining his 'principles,' and they don’t think that the 'mean tweets' are regrettable. Some of them want the authoritarianism."

@wdlindsy I've come to the conclusion that Trump voters cannot be defined by any normal metric. As a whole, they are not stupid or uneducated. Some are well educated, ie Harvard, et al. Some are wealthy, most are probably not. For me, I can only describe them as either being very wealthy or having drunk the Koolaid.

The NASA global temperature data for 2023 are here! No surprise: it's a new heat record. not only continues, it has accelerated over the past 40 years. Compare the thin linear trend line with the thick black non-linear trend line; the latter curves upward.

@rahmstorf You believe in global warming? Come on, now! I don't care what those silly lines portend. We know this is just another "woke" concept that undermines American Industry.
