last year, I had to hand pollinate all my cucumber plants because I couldn't find any bees to do the job.

But this year, I have a lot of of different types, even a chunky bumble bee visiting my every day and seems busy pollinating my cucumber and pepper plants.

I don't know what is the difference between this year and last year, but I am really enjoying it and already have some 20 baby on one plant.

Cute butt of a bee deep inside the cucumber plant pollinating them for me to have delicious cucumbers.

@faab64 probably took them a while to get a hold of your location, like us humans have to wander until we've found our new favourite restaurant

Ah interesting, never thought about that.

They are now welcome to my balcony any time, planting plenty of small wild flowers and peppers, cucumbers and other edible plants to enjoy it this summer.

Trying to do the best I can with my 11m² balcony

It’s growing in a 50L soil bag with mixed of old potting soil and last years compost. I am expecting it to grow a few meter tall and give me a lot of .

@faab64 Cucumbers are shallow-rooted plants. If you do not mulch them, the roots will be damaged by the UV radiation (which penetrates up to 5 cm) and the plant is susceptible to many diseases.
