For several weeks now these Tawny Frogmouths have moved their regular daytime roost from a nearby tree to a downpipe under the eves of a house, and seem very settled with their decision
Will be interesting to see where they choose to nest this year

It's a cloudy, windy day in SoCal. I think this little hummer was just learning how to make its wings work. It landed near me and stayed for several minutes. The dad came by for encouragement but I couldn't get him in the frame. Turn on volume to hear its tiny peep despite the wind. It flies off at the end. #birds#urbanWildlife
