Omg, Dragon Age: Inquisition was hiding so much behind the wall of boring beginning of the game. Now it is actually interesting and exciting, characters start to reveal and my first love is here.
@picard Over the years, I started the game 5 times, I think, spending in total 40 hours in the game and never passed through the boring part till now 😄
@glukozavr it's always a great feeling when a game you've tried to get into before suddenly clicks for you. almost like, the previous attempts it was not the right time, but now it is.
I really struggled to engage with Dragon Age: Inquisition. It’s a bit confusing and slow paced in the beginning, I started multiple times, but dropped out. Now I finally managed to pass the first milestone with moving to a new “grown-up” castle.
The game has so much potential, but it feels raw. It doesn’t have suspense, it doesn’t build the urge to do anything. The world is in danger, but you don’t feel that.
@picard Yeah, it has asked for state of the world thing. Not like I preserved them in any way, or remember. This time I plan to play on the same machine, so hopefully it will all be preserved. I wonder if it really matters, but we will see
@glukozavr I remember one game that could detect the state from your account. Hopefully this is how it will be, because no way do I have my old saves 😄
@glukozavr I know what you mean - it seems every Next Fest lately there's been some reason I've not played much. Likewise, builder games often don't appeal much - they need a strong hook and theme - and a purpose for me (I like purposeful sandboxes).
There are a few others I've downloaded that I want to try, but honestly don't think I'll get round to it this week - will probably just have to hope they stay up for a while...
@glukozavr Rogue Trader is a Warhammer 40k RPG, by the people behind Pathfinder. It's the RPG I've enjoyed most, by a long way. I've not played BG3 yet but I think I will prefer Rogue Trader. I absolutely love 40k, and the game really nails the gothic theme and atmosphere - it is incredibly dark and brutal at times, it's very theocratic and there's this permanent feeling of danger and daemonic presence. Just loving it so much 😄
I was reminded this week of one of my more unusual favourites; The Eye Of Judgement for PS3.
It's a physical, card-based combat game that uses the PlayStation Eye camera for Augmented Reality with online play and vs CPU modes!
Here's a few more pics from it, you can see the box, the cards, a booster pack, the special stand for the PSEye camera, etc.
You can also poke the characters with your hands and they'll react!
Super oddball game and I love it.
I want to share with you my #notpublicopinion#несуспільнадумка on Season: A Letter to the Future game. It is really interesting and I think important game for the industry of violence-driven games. But go by the link, and sign up if you are interested in regular but not too often indie games review drops!
Somehow my mind is having a ridiculously hard time making sense of the fact that the PS3 is nearly 20 years old. 💀
NES? Sure!
Sega Saturn? No problem!
I can easily and gladly place them in their own time zone.
But 20 years for the PS3. Yeah, this one kinda breaks me. 😱
@chris I “only” have two.
Swapped my original model with a slim back in the day so it would last me a sew more years and also a brand super slim, super ugly thing. 😅
Been looking at the Japanese PSN store for PSOne and PC-Engine games that I missed and yeah, it’s going to cost me quite a bit more money to get all the ones I want. 👀
Started playing #immortalsofavenum on #PS5 I didn’t expect much from it, from the first trailers it felt like a scum 😄 but it’s actually quite fun game! #ascendantstudios were very ambitions with the project - the world, the setting, the story and animations are nice. It could be a movie. Rough on the edges, could use more polish, but it’s a shame the game failed financially. I enjoy it more than latest Dragons Dogma even and much more I would expect.
@picard Yeah, I went through it much later the hype. But I understood why it ticked. It’s a nice game for its time, the atmosphere is very tense and it keeps you on your toes 😅
@glukozavr it does look fantastic. i did try it after a while, but to be honest by then it felt dated and i didn't get on with it. i suppose for me, Prey probably fits a similar niche of space mystery, even though it surely has a different tone.
@BeAware I will say that the DualSense controller is really something special (re: the haptics & force feedback and all). And it tends not to play nice & give you access to all of its features (wirelessly, at least) with anything but a Playstation.
This basically gives you a DualSense while streaming, where it's not possible otherwise.
All of that said, I'm buying a Steam Deck instead. Because I can do more than stream just PlayStation.
@RxBrad I actually have a DualSense Edge controller I use with certain PC games. It's VERY nice! One of the best controllers I've ever bought. Only one that was similar was a third party Scuf ps4 controller, but that had more issues.
On May 11, 2009, 3D Dot Game Heroes was released for the PlayStation 3. The game is an homage to classic top-down action-adventure games like The Legend of Zelda, and features a unique art style that makes the game look like it was created on an old 8-bit console.
@RxBrad didn't they say they're not eligible for the upgrade? Seems like they just clarified that the fuck up was intentional, not really un-fucking it...it's even MORE fucked that it's intentional in my opinion...🤦♂️
@BeAware Yep. Had to jump through some convoluted hoops to add the PS5 version to my library.
(copypaste of the instructions I gave elsewhere)
> On your PS5, view the game in your library. Click the 3 dots next to the title and pick "View Product". In the lower-left corner there's a "Game" dropdown. Pick the bottom "Game", and there will be an "Add to Library" option. Add it to your library, then you have access to download the PS5 version.
