Good morning to you all, from the Beastie O'er The Ben

    • Quite fancy doing a Myfanwy & Friend version of American Gothic. Should be easy to swap them in.

    • Could do, but it'll be a faff. Myfanwy is taller than her friend, but she really needs to go on the left, so you're going to have to patch the building where the man used to be.

    • Oh. I bet that's the sort of thing that AI is good at. Should I sign up and see?

    • Nah. Where's the fun in that?

    Tadaaaaa! Celtic Gothic

    Grant Wood's American Gothic painting but the man and woman have been replaced by a large knitted teal and cream chicken (Myfanwy) and a simple drawn figure (friend). The friend is holding the pitchfork from the original painting. Because the friend is so much shorter than the original man, the painting has been patched in all manner of ways, and although I am happy enough with it I really shouldn't have mentioned it, as it encourages people to look for the flaws.

    This has turned into a late night confusing mess. Found footage of a screeching oyster catcher & made a short loop, but it needed something more so...

    • hey, I can add one of the wee folk wearing headphones to block the screeching

    • wait, they could be listening to some funky sounds, they should be bopping

    • hah, it sort of looks like the bird is singing to them

    • oh, if the bird is singing WHY ARE THEY WEARING HEADPHONES?

    Things I Didn't Expect To Be Doing Today

    1. Redesigning the security bar mechanism on a chairlift so it would safely contain a large knitted chicken.

    A video loop of a brown, mottled, frog walking across grey stones. It is purposefully following an animated moth, and on its back a simple drawn figure lies, arms holding on tightly and looking a little regretful, being bumped by the movement which, lets be honest, is not designed for a comfortable ride.

    A while back I stuck some googly eyes on some fish & was annoyed because it was a rubbish loop & a bit slapdash even for me, so I got another clip & have sporadically been adding more googly eyes.

    Decided it was done & generated the new file.

    Downside: The loop is worse & overall the new clip looks just the same.

    Upside: I think I've discovered a new form of adding-googly-eyes-to-moving-fish therapy. Surprisingly relaxing. Would recommend.

    Was thinking about tortoises. Got a bit confused. Think I need to get some sleep. Sweet dreams all 💤 🐢 💤

    A large tortoise stands on some grass. Its head pokes out from under the shell and nibbles at the grass. For some reason I have drawn eyes on the shell, and pointy teeth sticking out from under it. It might be the tortoise version of the alien in Alien, you know, the one with a second head coming out of its mouth. A xenotort instead of a xenomorph. Not as scary as that, if I'm honest. Just a bit odd.

    Monday evening mood; indecipherable

    A short animated loop on a black background. There are 5 creatures, identical except for their size and brightness. The one in the centre is dominant. It pulses and glows, with orange-brown and cream horizontal stripes on the main body, which is surrounded by more spindly, flowing fins. There are two short, thick antennae at the top with large googly eyes. Four smaller versions surround it, hidden slightly in the shadows. It is based on a section of a lion fish video clip that I took in an aquarium visit, repeated and looped.

    Found the best spot for a coffee in the garden for the smol folk.
