#Desperation / Jair Bolsonaro misrepresented as a rally in support of Israel
Former Brazilian President Jair #Bolsonaro gathered supporters in Sao Paulo's Paulista Avenue to show strength amid investigations into him and his cabinet, for allegedly plotting a coup after the 2022 election loss. Populist center-right news site #Ynet has chosen to misrepresent the event as if it were a rally in support of Israel:

While Jair’s supporters often wave Israeli flags, Reuters doesn’t seem to notice the rally had anything to do with Israel, but rather with his political opponent, President Luiz Inacio #Lula da Silva.
Israelis should probably realize by now that associating with far-right, extremist elements erodes support for Israel, especially among younger generations, who prioritize progressive values.

Yad Vashem chair Dani Dayan criticized his display, saying it “disgraces both Holocaust victims and the state of Israel” because Israel, unlike the Jews of the Holocaust, has the capacity to defend itself.
