Is there a federated app for posting and sharing recipes?

Can anyone point me towards examples of or information about federated database systems?

My company may be creating one and I'm looking for examples and/or existing standards/protocols.

I'm still seeing at least a half-dozen links being shared around here per day.

It's really pretty sad to see so many people just shrug it off and stick to the status nazi-supporting quo.

I wish there was a clear alternative, a sort-of blogger Wikipedia, an activity-pub-compliant platform for +. We need to create synergy and network effects for small bloggers. Ghost and the alternatives don't check all the boxes yet

  • easy
  • private
  • sustainable
  • free if you don't monetize
  • egalitarian or regressive search algorithms
  • proactive discovery of high quality, low popularity writers

Been reading up on the hype train. I am really confused.

They claim BlueSky is supposed to be "" and "" but then why didn't they just join or contribute to ? Making a new app I can 100% understand but also making a brand new protocol? WHY?

I'm not sure how "open" BlueSky really is (their recent plans to monetize features are very ) but either way, BlueSky and its protocol feel like a gigantic Not Invented Here syndrome. 🙄
