#Ocean folks interested in #reanalysis, I'd like your input. I think soon I'll be asked for my views on what output #ERA6 should have from its ocean component. Let me know if there's anything you'd find particularly useful. (#SeaIce too I should add)
@lavergnetho I'll find out what type of temperatures we can have. For #ORAS6 (currently in production, ocean and sea ice reanalysis forced by #ERA5) we have grid box averaged sea ice and snow temperatures.
We also have melt pond area fraction there too. Might be possible to have melt pond depths/volumes too - would they add much for you?
For the first time in recorded history, the 180-day running mean for the global surface temperature just crossed 1.70°C above the pre-industrial 1850-1900 #IPCC baseline.
