He wanted a big cutting board with juice drainage in the center which is why it has the "X" in it. Not 100% happy with it, but it's good enough.
** sorry! There’s a picture posted now!**I’ve tried like wiping it dry and even using mineral spirits on it
I was cleaning out an old bookshelf and came across this 2003 Grizzly catalog. Coincidentally, I'd just received a 2023 mailer. I was shocked by the increases in price....
Walnut, cherry and katalox. 5.5 inches by 2.5 inches (13.5 cm x 5.5 cm)...
Spalted maple with a rim of sycamore and walnut. 6 inches by 2.5 inches (15 cm x 7 cm)...

I'm looking at my options for 14" bandsaws but notice the 17" grizzly 40th anniversary edition seems like its worth considering. Aside from the obvious size increase how does it compare to the usual 14" saws? Is something like the Laguna 14|12 or Rikon 10-324TG 14" saws have any advantages?
At Providence Flea today on a rainy Sunday. Come check out the 80+ vendors, including ME!...
My second time building Michael Alm's Picture Frame Jig. The old one had quite a few issues. Primarily that I used a piece of pine for the runner that started out loose and has progressed to sloppy and almost ruined my last frame with gappy miters. Used maple this time and probably got to snug of a fit to be honest, but I also...
Not exactly a woodworking question, but related. I bought an old house and there's a nice spot in the basement for me to set up my shop, but it's completely unfinished. Made entirely from 1x2 pine. Ripped into thirds for the shelf slats. Pocket holes. Glue. Brads and glue for the shelf slats....

Minwax has ruined enough of my projects. I'm looking for recommendations for wood finishing products, particularly stains and wiping varnishes, that actually work, are readily available on the East coast of the United States, and are not manufactured by Sherwin-Williams.

Took quite some time, but very happy with the result. The sliding doors are very smooth and give it an easy look, while the boxes provide easy access to all our stuff.
Inspired by a recent post, I'll also post my plane till - made out of cheap pine from the local big box store & some scrap plywood I had hanging around.. planes are held in place with some rare earth magnets, seems to work well!...
